- Jón Gnarr was born on January 2, 1967. He is an actor and writer, known for Foster Brothers (1997), Gnarr (2010) and The Prison Shift (2009).
- Was elected Mayor of Reykjavik (the capital of Iceland) in 2010. His party, Besti flokkurinn (Best Party), was formed only five months before elections. Term of service: 15 June 2010-16 June 2014. Did not run for reelection.
- Is a former member of the comedy duo Tvíhöfði
- Has performed in two stand-up comedy shows in Iceland, Ég var einu sinni nörd (I used to be a nerd) and Ekki óttast ég er hér (Don't be afraid I'm here). They were both a big hit.
- Hosted TV-Show called Gnarrenburg for 1/2 year.
- Has two children.
