Bert Gold(1917-2000)

Composer, songwriter, author, producer and director, educated at Nassau
College Center and Cooper Union. He had also been a newspaperman,
theatre manager, and a radio writer. During World War II, he served in
the Infantry and in Air Corps Intelligence. He produced and directed
local television programs between 1948 and 1952, then operated TV
Graphic Arts thereafter. Joining ASCAP in 1948, his chief musical
collaborator was Ken Hart, and his popular-music contributions included
"Mariannina" and "Molly O-ma-Lolly".
