- The sitcom "Union Square" was originally conceived as a vehicle for Latina actress Gorham. The series' original pilot centered around Gorham as a wacky Florida souvenir-shop worker who moved to New York and found herself at a diner surrounded by equally-wacky characters. Before it aired, the network and producers decided that Gorham wasn't the right for the series, retooled it as an ensemble piece, and put Constance Marie in Gorham's character's reduced role.
