Peter Anthony Fields(I)
- Writer
- Editor
- Producer
Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1971, Peter has always had a love for reading mystery/adventure novels, live theatre, and the cinema. As a young child, he first desired to be an animator for the Walt Disney Studios. He would often go to the library and read books about the history of the Disney studios and the art and craft involved in creating animated films. Peter was also greatly influenced by films from writers/directors such as Joseph L. Mankiewicz, Stanley Donen, Steven Spielberg, Carroll Ballard, and George Lucas. As a young teen, Peter shifted his focus from being an animator to honing his skills as a writer and director. He credits his mother, Evonne Fields-Gould (who has worked with him on all of his independent films), for passing her love of movies on to him at a very young age as she would encourage him to watch the classic films from the 1930s, 40s and 50s. His mother would also take Peter and his brother, Cornelius Gould, to the theaters of Playhouse Square in downtown Cleveland to see live stage productions, as well as many trips to the cinemas - almost on a weekly basis - to see the latest releases during the 1970s and 80s. In 2005, Peter changed his professional surname from Gould to Fields; Fields is the surname of Peter's grandfather, TL Fields, who passed in 2016.
