Prime Video has announced new additions to the cast of We Were Liars. Emily Alyn Lind, Shubham Maheshwari, Esther MacGregor, and Joseph Zada are joining the upcoming drama in lead roles. They join the previously cast Mamie Gummer, Caitlin FitzGerald, Candice King, David Morse, and Asher Ali.

Based on the YA novel by E. Lockhart, the series follows a family that spends their summers on a private island off the coast of Massachusetts. Prime Video calls We Were Liars “a tragic love story and an amnesia thriller.”

Nzingha Stewart is attached to direct the first episode of the upcoming Amazon Prime Video series adaptation of “We Were Liars,” Variety has learned exclusively.

The series was originally picked up at Prime Video in March 2023. It is based on the E. Lockhart YA novel of the same name. The series is described as “a tragic love story and an amnesia thriller set on a privately owned island off the coast of Massachusetts.” Mamie Gummer, Caitlin FitzGerald, and Candice King will star.

Stewart previously served as an executive producer and director on the Prime Video series “Daisy Jones and the Six” as well as on the upcoming Prime Video series “Cross,” based on the Alex Cross novels by James Patterson. Candice King has been cast in a brand new show!

The 36-year-old actress is set to join Mamie Gummer and Caitlin Fitzgerald in the TV adaptation of E Lockhart‘s novel We Were Liars, according to Deadline, which is set for Prime Video.

This will reunite Candice with The Vampire Diaries co-creator Julie Plec, who is developing the new series with The Originals and Roswell, New Mexico writer Carina Adly MacKenzie.

The 74-year-old three-time Oscar winner attended the big event with all four of her kids on Sunday evening (December 3) held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.

Meryl Streep and her husband, Don Gummer, have been quietly separated for over six years.

A representative for Streep said in a statement, “While they will always care for each other, they have chosen lives apart.”

The couple was married in 1978 and has not been publicly seen together since the 2018 Oscars. Despite the separation, Streep has continued to wear her wedding ring.

The Oscar-winning actress and sculptor were first introduced in 1978 by Streep’s brother.

The two were married six months later in September, and welcomed their first child, Henry Wolfe, in November 1979.

Over the course of their relationship, the couple have three more children: Mamie Gummer, 40, Grace Gummer, 37, and Louisa Jacobson, 30. The two now have five grandchildren.

The Sycamore District is one of L.A.’s chicest and buzziest mini-neighborhoods, known for its hot restaurants (Gigi’s, Mr. T), bakeries and cafés (Tartine, Sightglass), art galleries (Jeffrey Deitch), and beauty, fitness and wellness spots (Pause, Formula Fig and Heimat).

Now the area has caught the attention of Italian luxury powerhouse Giorgio Armani, which has opened a pop-up in Just One Eye, an independent fashion and design boutique located on Sycamore Avenue.

The shop-within-shop — titled Giorgio Armani for Just One Eye and running through Saturday, March 11 — features a selection of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear and accessories from the Spring-Summer 2023 collection, curated by Just One Eye founder Paola Russo. This new Giorgio Armani collection focuses on a long silhouette and is highlighted by jackets, skirts, trousers and duster coats fashioned to feel as weightless as possible, in colors from golden neutrals to ink blue purple and sand.

“Bel Air” is about to feature a “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” reunion — of sorts. Daphne Maxwell Reid, who played Will’s aunt on later seasons of “Fresh Prince,” and Vernee Watson-Johnson, who recurred as Will’s mom on the show, are returning to Bel Air — in guest starring roles for Episode 9 of Peacock’s new drama.

Maxwell Reid and Watson-Johnson portrayed Aunt Viv and Viola “Vy” Smith, respectively, in the original series. For their upcoming guest roles on “Bel-Air,” the two will play “Helen” and “Janice,” members of the Art Council Board of Trustee.

Peacock’s “Bel-Air” reimagines the beloved “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” sitcom — with a new lens on Will’s (Jabari Banks) complicated journey from West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air. Rosario Dawson is willing to risk anything to find her son in the first trailer for HBO Max’s “Dmz.”

The four-part limited series, based on the DC graphic novel of the same name, tells the story of a near future where America is embroiled in a bitter civil war, leaving Manhattan a demilitarized zone — hence the title of the series. The show chronicles the journey of fierce medic Alma Ortega (Dawson), who saves lives while desperately searching for her lost son.

In the trailer released on Monday — which you can watch above — Dawson’s Alma explains that she and her son were split apart during the evacuation out of Manhattan before it became a demilitarized zone. Even though the city is now an active war zone, she decides she must go back in search of him.

Dmz has added nine faces to its cast. Rutina Wesley, Mamie Gummer, Nora Dunn, Henry G. Sanders, Venus Ariel, Jade Wu, Rey Gallegos, Agam Darshi, and Juani Feliz are all joining Rosario Dawson and Benjamin Bratt in the DC series based on the comic books by Riccardo Burchilelli and Brian Wood. Good news for Star Wars fans in need of a fix: A special episode of Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, about Luke Skywalker’s surprise return in the Season 2 finale, will premiere Wednesday, Aug. 25 on Disney+.

The installment highlights the technology used to recreate Luke Skywalker and the collaborative process with his portrayer Mark Hamill. The program also explores “the immense pressure and responsibility the filmmakers had in bringing back one of the most important characters in film history,” per the official release.
