“Good evening, HeartShare! Long time no see!” Co-host Jim Kerr got right to the heart of the matter as he greeted the crowd gathered at New York City’s illustrious Ziegfeld Ballroom for the 2022 HeartShare Spring Gala on Monday, March 21.

Due to Covid-19, it was the nonprofit’s first in-person Gala since 2019, but it more than made up for two years without one.
A celebration of the HeartShare Family, the event drew more than 400 HeartShare supporters, Board Members, corporate sponsors, partners, celebrities and staffers to a red-carpet affair with all the glitz and glamour of a Hollywood premiere beneath HeartShare’s name in lights on the Ziegfeld’s iconic marquee. The Gala was also viewed online by more than 100 virtual attendees.

One of the many films that were tangled up in the video nasty debacle of the early 80s, Don’t Go In The House tells the story of Donny, a somewhat disturbed man who lives under the thumb of his overbearing and sadistic (in the sense that she likes to burn his arms on the stove) mother. That is until his mother passes away and Donny’s already disturbed psyche finally cracks. Living only with the voices in his head, Donny seeks out female companionship, only his idea of bringing a girl home to meet mother entails tying them up in his steel-walled burning chamber!

It’s time for the punks to meet the godfathers. The creators of SopranosCon merged with MobMovieCon for a family celebration. From July 23 to July 25, Harrah’s Resort & Casino in Atlantic City will house the boardwalk’s biggest gangster gathering since Nucky Johnson hosted the mob’s Atlantic City Conference in 1929.
“Al Capone will not be coming though,” VirtualCons CEO Michael Mota tells Den of Geek. “Those were the mobsters. I would say this would be the biggest gathering of mobster wannabes.” The Sopranos fan convention has come a long way since it was dreamed up by three gangster movie aficionados from New York, Maryland, and Rhode Island. The 2019 SopranosCon drew thousands of fans from as far as The Netherlands and the United Kingdom to the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus. A planned expansion to MobMovieCon had to be pushed back because of the pandemic, but the organizers introduced VirtualCons...

Back in the 1980’s, the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) and the self-appointed morality police (spearheaded by Margaret Thatcher and Mary Whitehouse, a professional busybody) were offended by the schlocky, low-budget, extreme-horror films that had crept their way into households across the country. Their censorship efforts resulted in certain offensive films being labeled as “Video Nasties”, and restricted from viewers in the UK.
While the films overall are generally hit or miss in terms of nastiness, the debauchery of the scenes here includes stone-dildos, monkey brain consumption, and the longest rape/torture scene in the history of cinema. Be warned – the following images, videos and descriptions are not for the faint of heart. For those of you who wish to continue on, remember to keep some Pepto-Bismol close by, and enjoy.

The past can come to bear on anyone unexpectedly, and that's the basis of Matthew Bonifacio's forthcoming indie dramedy "The Quitter." The film is headed to theaters next month, and we've got the exclusive trailer and poster. Starring Julianna Gelinas Bonifacio, Destiny Monet Cruz, Neil Jain, Deirdre O’Connell, Dan Grimaldi, Jack O’Connell, Erin Darke, Henry Vick, Joshua Rivera, with the director taking the lead role, and featuring a cameo by Natasha Lyonne, "The Quitter" tells the story of a former baseball player who is in for a surprise when his ex-girlfriend moves back to the neighborhood with their seven year-old daughter. And so begins his attempt to become the father he should've been all along, in a movie mixing comedy and drama in equal measure. "The Quitter" opens in New York on September 12th. Watch below.

I’ve heard a lot of things about this movie and critics panned this movie when it debuted for its inherent violence and child abuse. “Don’t Go in the House” was a pleasant surprise at how good it was for a theme taken out of the Hitchcock classic “Psycho.” In the UK, the movie was immediately put on their 80s “Video Nasty” list and subsequently banned from the country entirely. The movie was released by Media Home Entertainment and Video Treasures as well as a few DVD’s in the last ten years. The disturbing...

The Vine: Dawn of the dead on 'Sopranos'
The whacked may strike back in the upcoming season of The Sopranos. Sources said that some of the characters killed in the HBO mob drama's first four seasons will resurface in an episode of the series next year. Vincent Pastore (aka Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero), David Proval (Richie Aprile), John Heard (Detective Vin Makazian), Al Sapienza (Mikey Palmice), Dan Grimaldi (Philly "Spoons" Parisi) and Jason Cerbone (Jackie Aprile Jr.) are said to be on board for the episode. Sources said Joe Pantoliano (Ralph Cifaretto), who just earned an Emmy for his work on Sopranos, also is expected to appear as a deal is being worked out to accommodate the shooting schedule of Pantoliano's new CBS drama The Handler. It's unclear just how these characters will be brought back to life, but sources said the episode is believed to involve a dreamlike sequence. Reps for all the actors declined comment Tuesday. A spokeswoman for HBO said the network does not comment on upcoming story lines.
