- Has an undergraduate degree in history and political science from the University of Toronto. Has a masters degree in print journalism from the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism where he graduated at the top of his class.
- Picked as First Prize winner in Fade In Magazine's 2003 Screen Test competition by a panel of top agents, producers, casting agents and managers (out of over 800 entries worldwide).
- He was awarded the 1989 Los Angeles Weekly Award for Outstanding Male Performance in a One Act for "Making Noise Quietly," at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles, California.
- At one time, worked both as a print and broadcast journalist. His favorite posting was running a one-man bureau for an NBC-affiliate in Oregon.
- Has lived and worked in Toronto, New York, London and Los Angeles.
- Studied and graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Chris has also, over the years, trained with the-late Nikos Psacharopoulos, Jeannie Berlin, Deborah Hedwall and David Kagen. For the past decade, Chris has trained extensively with the Toronto-based acting coach/teacher David Rotenberg.
- Worked with two-time Academy Award-winning director Ben Affleck and Academy Award winner Matt Damon and Manchester United football legend David Beckham on two Super Bowl LIX award-winning Stella Artois commercials in 2025. The cinematographer on the project was four-time Academy Award winner Robert Richardson.
