Biography

Michael Chang Gummelt attended NYU and MSU, studying film. He is the writer, director, editor, composer and VFX artist for several student and indie film projects on everything from super 8, 16mm to modern digital film, over 28 years' experience. He has been a professional video game developer for 25+ years (on his most recent released project, he was the Lead Designer for "Call of Duty: Warzone"). He wrote "Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force" and did script polish on both "Jedi Outcast" and "Jedi Academy". He was also publicly known for pitching a new "Star Trek" series to Paramount in 2015 that suggested bringing the franchise back to TV in a premium but episodic format (something that "Strange New Worlds" has now done successfully).
