Award-winning publisher and developer Telltale Games, in partnership with DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, today launched Batman – The Telltale Series on Nintendo Switch in North America. The full first season is available both digitally and at retail for $39.99 Usd. All five episodes come already loaded on the retail cartridge. The game will also become available on Switch in Europe and Australia on November 17.
According to Executive Producer Sean O’Connor:
“This will be Telltale’s first Mature-rated title on the system, so we’re really excited not only to have our game on Switch but also to approach a new audience with a game we’re really proud of. We think our unique take on Batman is a great way to introduce Nintendo fans to Telltale’s style of storytelling. It’s also nice that returning fans will be able to experience the game on a console they can take with them everywhere.

Previously, we reported that the season pass hard copy of Batman - The Telltale Series would arrive on September 13, 2016. Now we have a definitive date for the first digital episode! It comes with a pretty awesome trailer, check it out!
Telltale Games has outdone themselves. Not only have they done a great job keeping their Warner Bros. Interactive collaborative Batman game shrouded in mystery, they've also released an incredible first trailer. There aren't too many companies that can get away with revealing nothing until two weeks before a game's first episodic release.
Furthermore, before today, we didn't even know when the first episode would come out. Finally we have confirmation that Batman- The Telltale Series' first episode "Realm of Shadows" will be available for download on August 2, 2016. This lines up perfectly for the release of the Season Pass hard copy on September 13, 2016.

Ahead of E3 kicking off, Telltale Games has revealed first look photos from the upcoming "Batman: The Telltale Series" episodic video game series. Set to premiere digitally on home consoles, PC/Mac, and mobile devices, Telltale will be privately showing the game to guests at the convention throughout the week.
"Batman – The Telltale Series" will be on game consoles as a special 'Season Pass Disc' which will be available at retailers across North America, Latin America, and Europe later this summer, granting access to the five episode season as it becomes available for download.
Rendered to look like a living, breathing comic book, Telltale's take on Batman boasts an award-winning cast including Troy Baker in the role of Bruce Wayne, Travis Willingham as Harvey Dent, Erin Yvette as Vicki Vale, Enn Reitel as Alfred Pennyworth, Murphy Guyer as Lieutenant James Gordon, Richard McGonagle as Carmine Falcone, and Laura Bailey as Selina Kyle. Additional cast and characters will be revealed as the season progresses.
In a statement, Telltale Games CEO and Co-Founder Kevin Bruner says: "We've been hard at work at Telltale creating an all-new iteration of the iconic Batman story that puts players in the suit of billionaire Bruce Wayne, just as much as it will put them behind the mask, deciding how to carefully navigate a complex drama, rich with action, crime, corruption, and villainy lurking around every corner of Gotham City. The complex life and fractured psyche of Bruce Wayne has lent itself to becoming a bold evolution of the signature 'Telltale' role-playing experience, and we couldn't be more excited as we prepare to debut the series to players across the world this summer."

Film review: 'Parallel Sons'
Set in a backwoodsy Adirondack town not far from the Canadian border, independent John G. Young's debut feature "Parallel Sons" is so sincere and lyrically romantic that one keeps hoping for more compelling drama than it actually delivers.
Opening today at the Nuart for a one-week engagement, the Greycat Films release bowed at the 1995 Sundance Film Festival and has gone on to win awards at other fests. Business will be limited primarily to gay audiences, who may be drawn by the white-guy-meets-black-man love story.
Seth (Gabriel Mick, "I Shot Andy Warhol") sports dreadlocks and the most extensive rap music collection in his dreary hometown. He's a sensitive, downright angelic 20-year-old, gentle and multicultural, with dreams of attending art school in the Big City.
His no-nonsense, gunshop-owning father Graham Alex Johnson) is not happy with Seth's embracing modern black culture and neither is a snippy contemporary (Josh Hopkins), who hangs out at the diner where the lead works. Seth's boss (Maureen Shannon) is his biggest fan, but his lusty girlfriend (Heather Gottlieb) does not handle it well when she's rudely rebuffed for wanting to have sex with him.
The emotionally wounded girl is the daughter of mean Sheriff Mott (Murphy Guyer), who likes to bug the lead about his attire and attitude.
The real story kicks in when Seth confronts a robber in the diner late one night. Enter the bleeding Knowledge (Laurence Mason, "The Crow"), a virile black man in trouble -- and just what Seth has always dreamed of.
With a convenient cabin in the woods, away from his father's house, Seth nurses the initially abrasive Knowledge back to health. They soon reveal all their secrets, while falling in love and avoiding detection by the fink neighbors. Not surprisingly -- but effectively ending the film's chances at success -- Seth and Knowledge are forced to flee for their lives when one of them accidentally-on-purpose shoots the sheriff.
While the performances are palatable, with Mason and Julia Weldon as Seth's younger sister making the strongest impressions, writer-director Young can't resist pouring on the tragic developments, and one is summarily bummed at the outcome. Some will be moved, but the film plays with a loaded deck of cliches that undermine its noble intentions.
