- The film The Rose of the Rascal (2001) is based on his life.
- Has sold about 900 000 records in Finland.
- His manager was Veikko 'Vexi' Salmi.
- Was very popular from 1960 to 1990.
- His album "Rentun ruusu" became his biggest success. Record sold more than 125,000 copies and is today 25th most sold Finnish album. At the time it was released, it was 10th most sold in history.
- In 1974 he was trying to be Finnish entry on Eurovision Song Contest, but job went for another singer.
- "Syksyn sävel" singing contest was a big success for him: he won contest in 1970, 1971 and in 1973 he was 2nd and 3rd with two songs. In 1990 he was 2nd on the contest.

After his death albums released were: "Rentun ruusut" (2000) sold 44,000 (310th most sold) "Viimeiset laulut" (1991) sold 35,000 (419th most sold).
