Spider-Man: Far from Home is weaving an expansive web over the Fourth of July holiday frame, pushing new specialties to find space in upcoming weeks. There are a few brave indies hoping to grab some residuals over the long weekend, however. Sundance doc Marianne & Leonard: Words of Love will launch in several L.A. and New York locations. Distributor Roadside Attractions is hoping to ride a wave of music docs that have scored well in the box office with summer rollouts in recent years. Thriller Skin in the Game dramatizes the human trafficking in America. Specialty label Kandoo Films, which also produced the title, is releasing it day-and-date. Gravitas Ventures, meanwhile, is spearheading on-demand for the Armed Forces action-drama Above the Best. The producers are organizing limited theatrical events/showings for the feature, including one this weekend in Houston.

"She's going to be our big money maker, you mark my words." Kandoo Films has debuted a official trailer for an indie drama titled Skin in the Game, the feature directorial debut of an Oakland native filmmaker / musician known as Adisa. Based on a true story, the thriller is about a fifteen year old girl abducted off the streets who finds herself stuck in a horrific sex trafficking ring. With no initial assistance from the police, Dani's mother and an ex-prostitute take to the streets in an effort to save her before it's too late. Starring Erica Ash, Elisabeth Harnois, Angélica Celaya, Sammi Hanratty, Gideon Adlon, Gail Bean, Jay Hieron, and Catfish Jean. This is an important story to tell, the film just doesn't look unique in any way. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Adisa's Skin in the Game, direct from Kandoo's YouTube: Abducted off the sidewalk of suburban America,...

After setting company ratings records in 2017, Ion is decking the holiday halls for the 10th year in a row, setting a lineup of six original movies to air between November 25 and Christmas Day.
The half-dozen new titles, led off by Christmas Cupid’s Arrow, will join more than 25 library movies in a weekend rotation the network bills as “Bring the Holidays Home.” Last year’s holiday lineup, the company said, delivered Ion’s highest household ratings ever, averaging 887,000 viewers in primetime. The most popular title, A Prince for Christmas, posted a 1.2 million average.
“The holiday movie season has become a significant part of Ion Television’s programming strategy, and it continues to prove its value to both the network and our advertisers,” said Brandon Burgess, Chairman and CEO of Ion Media.

15 years since Grissom and company first strode the streets of Las Vegas to the strains of The Who, CSI drew to a close with a feature-length episode, 'Immortality'.
The team closed their 336th - and final - case, but were you satisfied with how the long-running crime saga came to a close?
Was that happy ending for Grissom and Sara everything you'd dreamt of? Were you happy with Catherine's fate, promoted to Crime Lab Director?
Or were you disappointed by the absence of Nick Stokes? Did you feel Greg got short shrift? Was Db Russell's (temporary) exit too muted?
Digital Spy wants your feedback on the CSI finale - hit or miss? As "ridiculous" as the Us critics seem to think?

Channel 5 is sending Us TV favourite CSI: Crime Scene Investigation out in style with a night-long tribute
CSI Night will include a re-broadcast of the procedural drama's 2000 premiere, as well as the debut of its movie-length finale called Immortality.
You can also vote now through September 14 for your all-time favourite episode to be shown during CSI Night, and possibly even win a box set.
No air date has been set yet for Channel 5's CSI Night, but the marathon will serve as an introduction into the spinoff CSI: Cyber.
We know that CSI is bringing back several familiar faces for its feature-length finale, including William Petersen, Jorja Fox, Paul Guilfoyle and Marg Helgenberger.
CSI star Elisabeth Harnois recently opened up to Digital Spy about her dream ending for her character Morgan Brody - and it's a doozy.

CSI is getting a visit from Ringer alum Kristoffer Polaha. Polaha has joined the 14th season of the long-running CBS crime procedural in a guest-starring role, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively. Set to appear in the 10th episode scheduled to air Nov. 27, Polaha will play Darryl, a blue-collar mechanic who is likable and charming. He comes to the aid of Sara (Jorja Fox), Finlay (Elisabeth Shue) and Morgan (Elisabeth Harnois) when their car breaks down, but he may have darker intentions. One of CSI's original castmembers, George Eads, temporarily exited the series earlier this year

November on Horror Channel sees network premieres for a memorable collection of strange cult oddities and forgotten British horror classics, kicking off with the network premiere of Nicolas Roeg’s The Man Who Fell to Earth, starring David Bowie. Joining Bowie in the realm of the weird and wonderful is Roy Boulting’s psychological ground-breaker Twisted Nerve, Michael Powell’s controversial (and classic) Peeping Tom, Robert Fuest’s Hitchcockian And Soon the Darkness and Jimmy Sangster’s Hammer classic Fear in the Night.
Also, there are UK TV premieres for Emmerdale actor Dominic Brunt’s directorial feature film debut Before Dawn, Lulu Jarmen’s disturbing Bad Meat (review) and Padraig Reynold’s festival favourite Rites of Spring (review).

There’s nothing quite like digging into a character with a rich backstory that can be mined for all its worth. That’s the approach CSI is taking with the character Sherry Stringfield will be portraying this fall. With George Eads taking a leave of absence over what is being called a “creative differences” with a pregnant writer on the series, there’s going to be a gap in the CSI team, which is where Stringfield comes in and why her character is going to be so well developed for only being a guest. Maybe she’ll do such a great job CSI will consider letting Eads go and just keeping Stringfield. God only knows she’s no stranger to TV procedurals.
The former ER star will be guest starring as Dawn, a likable blue-collar swing shift CSI who will, according to TVLine, join up with Morgan (Elisabeth Harnois) to investigate a serial rapist case.

Sherry Stringfield is trading in her white coat for an investigator's badge.
The long-time ER star will appear on an upcoming episode of CSI, according to TV Line, coming on board the drama as a "blue-collar swing shift CSI" named Dawn who joins Elisabeth Harnois' Morgan on a serial rape case.
Look for the character to also have a son at home with an addiction problem.
Stringfield has mostly avoided the small screen since scrubbing out of ER in 2009, appearing later that same year on an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Her CSI installment will air some time this fall.

On the surface, the Season 14 premiere of CSI may feel a bit familiar.
After all, the show's premiere one year ago found the team searching for a team member's abducted loved one. And while this year, D.B. Russell (Ted Danson) & Co. are trying to find kidnapped team member Morgan (Elisabeth Harnois) and Ellie (Teal Redmann) the daughter of Brass (Paul Guilfoyle), that's pretty much where the similarities end.

Okay, this is a pretty grim way to return for a 14th season!
On tomorrow’s premiere episode of CSI on CBS, D.B., Julie and the rest of the Las Vegas team attend a funeral while some pretty macabre cut-aways flash on the screen. Yuck.
Is this a final farewell to Morgan (Elisabeth Harnois), who may or may not have survived last season’s undercover op gone wrong? And no, they aren’t killing off Nick Stokes just because his alter-ego is M.I.A. He’s in the clip, sillies!

Lulu Jarmen's ultra gory contagion horror Bad Meat, which had its world premiere at the FrightFest Halloween Allnighter back in 2011, is finally available on DVD in the UK from Kaleidoscope Entertainment, and we have a look at the box art and more here.
Starring Dave Franco (21 Jump Street), Elisabeth Harnois (Mars Needs Moms), Jessica Parker-Kennedy ("The Secret Circle"), and Mark Pellegrino ("Supernatural," "Lost"), Bad Meat follows a group of teenage delinquents who contract a deadly virus after being ordered to a remote camp for rehabilitation.
Bad Meat is also available on DVD and VOD in the Us and Canada, where it was recently released by Jinga Films and Mvd.
Compared to Eli Roth's Cabin Fever and Michal J. Bassett's Wilderness, Bad Meat trades in all manner of bodily fluids, puking perverts, a graphic dog dissection, amateur stomach-pumping, chewed body parts, and ripped-off genitals. You Brits enjoy now - Cheerio!

"CSI" original recipe will return to CBS this fall, the last franchise entry standing, but after Wednesday (May 15) night's season finale, could the series wind up mourning a series regular?
Of course, we're referring to Elisabeth Harnois' Morgan Brody, who would up missing by the end of the hour. After chasing a serial killer murdering prostitutes in manners that fit the circles of Hell in "Dante's Inferno," the team sent Morgan undercover, to the protestations of Ecklie.
This being "CSI," the mission didn't go well. The murderer, Oliver Tate (played by Tim Mathison, "Hart of Dixie") skipped circles and jumped to the eighth -- fraud. Somehow, Oliver knew what was what and, after seemingly dismissing Morgan, had her disappeared. By the time Greg and Nick pulled the black SUV over, she was no longer in it.

Zap2it: What's your take on the reason for the continuing popularity of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" as it nears the end of its 12th season?
Ted Danson: I guess what's so impressive is that it's the No. 1-watched show in the world, and I think the reason the fan base is so loyal is that [the series' makers] continue to produce a really great forensic mystery that allows you to help solve the crime. Even though they've brought new faces in over the years, they've stuck to their guns.
Zap2it: Does it surprise you that the show still comes up with fresh crimes to drive the stories?
Ted Danson: I suppose it's a sad commentary on real life, but you can always find a new and different way to do harm to your fellow man. They're really smart in having three people on staff, two writers and a technical adviser,...

CSI received its inevitable renewal – it’s the No. 1 show in its Wedneday 10 p.m. timeslot – taking it to Season 14, and with that extension comes the need to make sure all the cast are signed on to continue their roles. In particular, Ted Danson’s original two-year deal is up, so he needed to renegotiate his contract to ensure his future on the series. Thankfully, it appears as though all the deals have gone through smoothly. No drama; no fuss. Everyone is returning for Season 14 and likely beyond. It’s a good time to be a part of the original CSI crew.
The particulars of Danson’s new deal aren’t all that interesting. According to Deadline, he signed on for another two years and his salary is well over $200,000 per episode. Also returning is Elisabeth Shue – she came on board with Danson as the new co-leads – as well as George Eads,...
