- Is good friends with Family Guy (1999) creator Seth MacFarlane who named a recurring character in the show after Hartman.

- Rob Orpillia, aka Kuro the Artist, worked on Hartman's failed pilot Imaganathan, which Orpillia revealed that Hartman ripped him off of $1,400 for completing a piece of animation. Orpillia also says Hartman stole the catchphrase "I created your childhood" from one of his emails.
