Once upon a time, TV storytelling was a one-way street.
Writers wrote, networks aired, and fans watched. That’s it.
But social media came along and flipped the script, turning television into an interactive experience where fans have a real say in what happens on their favorite shows.

Whether it’s saving a canceled series, influencing character arcs, or completely shifting the direction of a story, social media has made TV more of a collaboration than ever before.
But is that always a good thing? Let’s dig in.

For fans of sci-fi, fantasy, and supernatural TV, the question looms: where did all the great genre programming go?
From the syndicated adventures of Xena: Warrior Princess to the small-town charm of Eureka, from the gripping mysteries of The X-Files to the sprawling vampire tales of The Vampire Diaries, genre TV once ruled the airwaves.
Fans loved to escape reality with thrilling tales and cherished characters that reached cultural icon status. Yet, as we wade through the 2020s, finding similar shows has become like searching for a needle in a haystack. What happened?

The ’90s were a heyday for genre programming, with Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys leading the charge. I never missed Beastmaster, as Daniel Goddard’s smile could light up a room.
These shows thrived in syndication, bringing sword-and-sandal epics to audiences every week. Sure, they were campy and featured over-the-top action,...

The fourth and final season of Superman and Lois opened on the most game-changing of notes. That's not an exaggeration, because the Arrowverse offshoot's season premiere literally featured the death of Superman. Yep, that's right; the Man of Steel died before viewers' eyes as the beloved CW series adapted one of the most iconic - and infamous - storylines in DC Comics history.
It was a bold way to start what is gearing up to be the show's final outing, but it has received an incredibly positive response, allowing the tighter fourth season (which only features the core four and Lex Luthor in the regular cast) to tell a more personal story.
That very much continues in the third episode of the season, as "Always My Hero" continues to pull on the heartstrings of viewers while emotionally destroying them at the same time. Yeah, it's one of those episodes. Another one.

Well that was emotional. After nearly a year and a half off our screens, Superman and Lois returned to The CW for its fourth and final season premiere, and it was a doozy. A truly, remarkable feat that has no doubt left fans feeling all of their feelings and then some. We wouldn't expect anything less from a season premiere, and we certainly wouldn't expect anything less from Superman and Lois, but those two episodes have left the season in a very interesting place, which is even more interesting than you might think given that this is the final season.
Yes, the show returned with a special two-hour premiere that consisted of the first two episodes of the season (titled "The End and the Beginning" and "A World Without"), and it was packed full of content. Not only did it immediately pick up from where the previous season left off,...

Superman and Lois is about to kick off its final season, so here are a few things to remember from the Season 3 finale!
When Superman and Lois season 4 ends, it will also be the end of the Arrowverse. After 12 years, the epic franchise that gave DC heroes their biggest limelight will finally close out, mostly thanks to the mess happening behind the scenes at The CW. It’s a bittersweet farewell, even if the show still has a lot to offer.
Season 3 was notable for the show as Superman (Tyler Hochelin) faced challenges while Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) fought cancer. There was also the introduction of a leaner, meaner Lex Luthor (Michael Cudlitz), who ironically had a bigger beef with Clark and Lois than with Superman. As fans get ready for Superman and Lois season 4 (which sadly has a big cast exodus), here are a few things to remember from the Season 3 finale.

Superman & Lois is set to return this October in its final season after wrapping up last season with a cliffhanger.
Season 3 left us with some serious questions — and heart palpations — after seeing Superman in a weak state.
The show was initially planned to run for seven seasons — yes, seven seasons! But it will say goodbye in Season 4.
(Katie Yu/The CW)
It was a lofty goal, and sadly, it won’t come to fruition — not because the show lacked substance, heart, or talent.
But, because The CW has once again decided to scrap much of its original content as it attempts to travel in a whole new direction — once again (ugh)! That whole debacle is a discussion for another day.
Despite the sad news that Superman & Lois is ending earlier than planned, showrunners Todd Helbing and Brent Fletcher have decided to go out with a bang. Of course,...

After literally leaving things up in the air, Superman & Lois returns Tuesday, May 31 to deal with the fallout from Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) revealing his secret identity to Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui). And she is super conflicted. (Credit: Shane Harvey/The CW) “Tyler and I felt an enormous responsibility to sell this [moment] for the fans,” admits the actress, who is over-the-moon with how the episode, “Lies That Bind,” handles the emotional weight of both Clark’s confession and Lana’s reaction. “There is utter shock, then betrayal…and then everything is out,” she continues. Almost immediately, Lana asks what so many Superman fans have thought over the decades — “How has nobody put this together before?!” — as the show finally explores the former high-school sweethearts’ backstory with flashbacks to their teen years. “I loved how they wrote it,” she says of the montage down memory lane. “We knew it had to be...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Season 2 Episode 7 of Superman & Lois, “Anti-Hero.” If you don’t want to be spoiled, go hit your X-k inhaler and come back when you feel the power.] We knew Lt. Mitch Anderson was trouble the second Ian Bohen showed up in the season premiere, but it wasn’t until recently that we saw just how bad the Teen Wolf alum’s Department of Defense d-bag could be. Not only did he wrongfully haul Kal-El (Tyler Hoechlin) into custody for protecting Bizarro, but he locked him up with ne’er-do-well half-brother Tal-Rho (Adam Rayner) and that is just cruel. Shane Harvey/The CW To make things worse, Anderson went full-frontal nuts tonight in his mission to capture Bizarro by dosing himself with X-k and killing the sweetly backwards version of our hero during a brutal showdown at the Fortress. Then, because that’...

When Gillian Anderson announced she was done with the series -- ahead of the season 11 premiere -- we knew this day was coming. The X-Files TV show on Fox is cancelled, at least for now, Deadline reports. To be fair to the network, they were clear the revival was for limited 10th and 11th seasons. However, all is not lost. While Chris Carter has said that, while he never imagined the series without Anderson as FBI Special Agent Dana Scully, he is open to future seasons, with or without her. A Fox sci-fi mystery thriller, The X-Files also stars David Duchovny as FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder. Together, Mulder and Scully investigate unexplained or “X-Files” cases — which have answers involving paranormal phenomena. Mitch Pileggi, William B. Davis, Annabeth Gish, Lauren Ambrose, Robbie Amell, Veronica Cartwright, Chris Owens,...
