Shane Harvey has worked in the entertainment industry throughout his native Canada and around the world for decades. He has worked with many world-renowned musicians and actors including Snoop Dogg, Isaac Hayes, Michael Bublé, Jon Bon Jovi, Alanis Morissette.
He also created, directed and provided the music score for Paper Promises (2010), a feature-length documentary about his father Larry Harvey which has become a fathers day classic. As a singer-songwriter, Shane penned the tune "Got A Hold on Me", a song featured in Final Destination 3 (2006) and wrote, produced sang and played on the entire CD for "Guinevere: To Hell and Back", a wildly original, semi-autobiographical album of Shane's whose melodies and lyrics feature several musical styles and influences, including jazz and rap.
Shane Harvey has lived and breathed music since the age of 5 when he first held a postcard sent to his father, country singer Larry Harvey from his friend Elvis Presley. He worked with The Toronto Symphony Orchestra and The Warsaw National Orchestra on numerous film projects including the film Clearcut (1991). He worked with Moe Koffman on the feature film The Shower (1992).
Shane's feature length documentary Paper Promises (2010) was his directorial debut. The film looked at the life of Larry Harvey, the director's father and has become a Fathers Day classic. Larry Harvey was a highly touted country music singer-songwriter in the 1950's and early 1960's who decided to hang up his guitar and move from Nashville to Toronto where he raised two daughters and a son with his wife and worked in an industrial parts factory until he retired.
His song "Ricky" won the National Much Music songwriting contest. He is an award-winning jingle writer. His Ally Dupont spot won a Telly for best 30-second music composition in the USA. He is an accomplished voice/over talent and can be heard on numerous radio spots in Canada. Vocal accolades have streamed in from the likes of heavyweight rapper Snoop Dogg.
He has performed, sang and recorded with artists such as Alanis Morissette and Blood Sweat and Tears. Shane impersonates over 40 of the world's most famous singers, including Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Michael McDonald and George Michael.
