In 1968, he co-founded Allegro Films with Christopher Nupen, David Findlay, Diana Baikie (Manager, died 1979) and Michael Rosenberg (who left to become head of Partridge Films). Half a century on, Nupen, Heelas and Findlay continue to run the company.
