Born and raised in Paterson New Jersey to Argentinian parents, Guillermo Heredia became interested in filmmaking at the age of 15 when he wrote and directed his first featurette: a horror film entitled Don't Go in the Basement.
In 1988, he attended the Center for the Media Arts in New York City and graduated top of his class with a degree in television production. Soon after produced and directed a local politically oriented TV show, "Free Talk" that successfully ran for two years on US cable of Paterson NJ.
Since then, Heredia's work has been a staple on the independent film circuit. In 1996, he released his first feature, Blue Angel, which won the People's Choice Award at the New York International Film and Video Festival. In 1998, Heredia signed with SIGHTSOUND.COM, the first company to stream films online. This makes Heredia the first Latin American filmmaker to have a film sold on the internet.
Heredia's second feature film was the 2002 suspense thriller Commandment 6. In 2004, his third film, The Search for Mr. F, won the best comedy award at the Las Vegas extension of the New York Independent Film and Video Festival. In 2006 He became a member of the Passaic County Film Commission.
Heredia then took several years off to focus on raising his family. He reemerged in 2013 and has since produced, and even acted in, numerous acclaimed shorts including Sleepwalker, Dream, As Cool As Jennifer: Volume 2, The Ballboy, The Butler Did It, and A Happy Marriage. Heredia is soon slated to Write, Direct and Produce Two feature films and a made for TV Pilot.
Heredia is the CEO of Jester Studios LLC, his production company which has several projects in production including Jest, a horror film set for a Halloween(2018) release and Witville and Willy Jenco a TV pilot. Heredia will also serve as an associate producer for Weight, a new comedy film from acclaimed director Rob Margolies.
