Grew up in New Orleans playing trumpet and marching annually in the high school marching band during Mardi Gras parades with his brothers and sister whom played saxophone, trombone, clarinet, etc.

Is a big fan of the final frontier, Alaska, and has travelled there a half dozen times taking part in summer activities like Salmon fishing and winter activities like dog mushing, snow shoeing and sledding.
