Guy Hoffman made his film debut in Paris at Pathé as an assistant to the filmmaker Christian-Jaque. Assigned to the French army's film service during the Second World War, he was taken prisoner but managed to escape.
In 1948, he moved to Montreal, where he joined the Compagnons de Saint-Laurent in 1949. He quickly became involved in the theatrical world, participating in several productions and being one of the co-founders of the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde in 1951. He is particularly fond of young audiences and produces flagship Radio-Canada television programs, such as Marie Quat'Poches and Le Pirate Maboule. Guy Hoffmann has been an actor in a multitude of radio serials, soap operas, not to mention his 10,000 stage performances in the theatre and his appearance in a hundred television dramas on Radio-Canada television1.
