One of the first rules Neil Cross gave his team when making Iris, the new thriller series he created for Sky U.K., was that the lead character should never drive a car with a roof. “If Grace Kelly wouldn’t drive it, neither should Iris,” says Cross, laughing.
After spending years in the grime of East London making Luther, the dark cop drama starring Idris Elba as a homicide detective with some very nasty personal demons, Cross was ready for something light and sunny. With Iris, which “to create a different kind of show… something my wife and I could enjoy with a glass of wine on the sofa.”
Iris exchanges Luther‘s cold and cloudy London for a sun-drenched Italian countryside — the show was shot largely in Sardina — and takes inspiration from the British spy and adventure shows of Cross’ youth, think The Saint or The Persuaders!, for its chase thriller plot line.

Leo Woodall was four years old in 2001, when Renée Zellweger charmed global audiences as the titular hapless romantic of Bridget Jones’s Diary. The film, which earned Zellweger her first Oscar nomination, became regular viewing for the London-born actor and his family at Christmas time each year. But he never could have imagined at the time that he would one day be playing Zellweger’s love interest in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, the fourth and final installment of the franchise based on Helen Fielding’s novels.

Fremantle is readying to unleash ‘Sandokan’ onto industry insiders during next week’s London TV Screenings.
“It’s simply a great epic adventure, based on a known IP. It’s ‘Poldark’ meets ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’,” enthuses CEO Commercial and International Jens Richter, promising action, adventure and some good old-fashioned pirating.
Starring Can Yaman (“Daydreamer”), Ed Westwick (“Gossip Girl”) and John Hannah (“Spartacus: Blood and Sand”), it’s based on the series of novels by Emilio Salgari and produced by Fremantle’s Italian content powerhouse Lux Vide. Set in the mid-1800s, it heads to a place inhabited by native Dayak tribes yet dominated by British law. Sandokan is used to fighting for his survival, but one thing catches him by surprise: love.
“There’s a portion of romance,” admits Richter. With each episode set in a different environment, “Sandokan” will “fit the needs of the market perfectly,” he adds.

Note: This story contains spoilers from “The White Lotus” Season 3, Episode 1.
“The White Lotus” Season 3 had one confirmed familiar face coming back – Natasha Rothwell’s Belinda from Season 1 – but a second one popped up toward the end of the premiere.
Greg (Jon Gries), the man Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) met in Season 1 in Hawaii and was married to by the second season where they vacationed in Italy, was back and with a much younger woman apparently living near the Thailand resort.
Greg’s reappearance will likely cause a few dustups. One of the main reasons Belinda and Tanya’s wellness venture never took off in Season 1 was because Tanya started falling for Greg. Then in Season 2, she discovered that Greg was trying to get her killed to get around the prenup he signed and get her money.
Here’s what you need to remember about Greg as we get into Season...

After a two-year wait, The Recruit season 2 just premiered on Netflix on Jan. 30. I binge-watched the new season in just a few days, and now, I'm ready for the next spy show to check out next. I bet you are, too!
If you're looking for a new show like The Recruit to watch right now, you're in luck. I shared a list of four good spy shows to watch while we wait to find out if The Recruit is renewed for season 3. The good news is that Netflix has a bunch of new spy and political thrillers to watch right now. We've seen at least four released on Netflix in as many months, not including The Recruit. That streak of new thrillers continues in February with Zero Day starring Robert De Niro coming to Netflix on Feb. 20.

When renewing Monster for a third season last October, Netflix’s official release did not include any mention of when the next season would arrive which made many fans think there could again be a two-year gap between seasons; however, it seems that will not be the case.

One of the coolest and most beloved sub-genres for thriller, action, and drama fans is the spy genre, and there’s a good reason. In a spy film or series, we get complicated and cool characters who put their lives on the line by going against numerous people, and instead of always letting their guns talk, they use more covert tactics, which are always thrilling to watch. So, Prime Video being what it is, it has a large library of content, and also some of the best spy shows you can find, and that’s what inspired us to compile a list of the best spy shows you can watch on Prime Video right now.

John Krasinski made a major splash in 2018 with his debut horror feature, A Quiet Place. Along with co-writing and directing, Krasinski also starred in the film opposite Academy Award nominee Emily Blunt (his real-life wife). The thrilling film takes place in the near future, after Earth has been overtaken by violent aliens that hunt by sound. The audience is put in the shoes of a family who struggles to survive in a world in which making noise could result in certain death.
A Quiet Place was not only a hit in the horror community, but actually gained a massive audience around the world, as it ended up appealing to many people who wouldn't typically enjoy horror. Part of this is due to the way the film relies more heavily on suspense, as opposed to things like gore and excessive jump scares. The inclusion of a clever, captivating plot and several...

Charlie Hunnam will play one of America’s most known serial killers in the upcoming third season of Netflix’s anthology series “Monster,” providing viewers with a disturbing insight into Ed Gein’s life.
First-look photos show Hunnam’s stunning change. He recreates Gein’s 1950s demeanor with period-appropriate attire and a gray-tinted haircut. The actor walks comfortably on a city sidewalk, conversing with a police officer, his faint smile indicating the character’s depth.
The new season, titled “Monster: The Original Monster,” will delve into Gein’s dark past, concentrating on a criminal who captured the public imagination decades before true crime became a popular interest. While legally charged with two murders, Gein’s most heinous acts included grave robbing and body desecration—a legacy of horror that inspired Alfred Hitchcock’s famous film “Psycho.”
Hunnam is joined by a strong cast who add dimension to the historical narrative.

Tomboy, tomcat, tomfoolery these are just a few well-known terms that begin with Tom. But when and why did the name Tom come to represent the so-called everyman? The name Tom originates from Thomas, a name of one of the disciples in the Bible, and it means twin. The names popularity seems to peak in 1960s America (via Nameberry), but has steadily declined over the years. The fact that Tom was such a popular name in the baby boomer era may explain why so many Toms exist in the entertainment industry today.
Ask anyone to name a famous actor named Tom, and there are sure to be a wide set of options to choose from. From Tom Felton of Harry Potter fame to Tom Hopper from Netflixs Umbrella Academy to The White Lotus season 2 villain Tom Hollander, there are almost too many Toms to count. Yet when it comes to the most famous of Toms,...

The ten-episode series Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (read our review Here) was such a huge success for the Netflix streaming service back in 2022 that Netflix ordered two more seasons of the show from its creators, Ian Brennan and American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy. Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story was recently released, and has had quite an impact on the real lives of the title characters… and right before that season premiered in September, it was announced that Sons of Anarchy‘s Charlie Hunnam had signed on to play murderer and graverobber Ed Gein in Monster season 3. As it turns out, Monster season 3 (which is apparently called The Original Monster) was very close to starting production when that announcement was made, because Hunnam has now been spotted on the set of the show in his Gein wardrobe!

A new image from the set of Monster season 3 reveals the first look at Sons of Anarchy alum Charlie Hunnam as the infamous serial killer Ed Gein. Following the big success of Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, which debuted on Netflix in September, it was announced that season 3 would focus on the killer Ed Gein. The third installment of the true-crime anthology is currently titled The Original Monster, with a supporting cast that so far includes Laurie Metcalf as Ed Geins mother, Tom Hollander as Alfred Hitchcock, and Olivia Williams as Alma Hitchcock.
AHS Zone shared a photo of Hunnam on X, which appears to show the actor smiling on the set of the Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan-created anthology. The photo is accompanied by a real-life, black-and-white image of Gein. In the set photo, Hunnam looks somewhat aged. He has short, gray hair which is combed over.

James Franco is tucked away in the corner of a five-star hotel lobby on Rome’s Via Veneto, sipping an Americano coffee. Wearing a chocolate brown hoodie he proudly says he co-designed, the actor and filmmaker looks relaxed and flashes his signature smile.
He’s in the Eternal City for the Rome Film Festival launch of Italian director Claudio Giovannesi’s “Hey Joe.” In the gritty drama, Franco plays Dean, an alcoholic American WWII vet who winds up back in Naples in the early ’70s in search of a son he fathered there before absconding to New Jersey.
The film is his first to surface on the fest circuit since his career went on hiatus following a now-settled 2019 lawsuit alleging that he sexually exploited young women who took his acting class. As he sips his coffee, Franco and I agree that his character is looking for redemption. Could the same be said of Franco?...

Update: Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón is planning to make a decision about the fate of the Menendez brothers and their possible early release very soon
“There’s actually two different camps in my office,” Gascón told CNN (via Deadline). “I have a group of people, including some that were involved in the original trial, that are adamant that they should spend the rest of their life in prison and that they were not molested. I have other people in the office that believe actually, that they probably were molested and that they deserve to have some relief… I plan to have a decision by the end of this week.“
