Bruce Brockett was born in New London, Connecticut, to Slade, a submariner, and Mary, a pianist. After years of traveling overseas, the family ultimately settled in the Pacific Northwest. Bruce is the oldest of three, the tallest of five, and has been blessed with his Scottish ancestors' hereditary red beard.
Bruce spent most of his childhood reading, writing, and daydreaming; three activities that eventually led him to musical theatre and film. By the time he was nineteen he had acted in six musicals, directed his first feature film, and spent countless hours hunched over videos in the editing room. After serving a two year mission, he went on to earn a Bachelors degree in Media Arts Studies from Brigham Young University (Class of '24), direct the award-winning short film The Trial of Sergeant Joanis (BYU PDFF 2024: Best Acting Performance), and receive a lifetime membership in Phi Alpha Theta.
