George Danno was born in Jersey City, New Jersey. His mother taught at a Catholic elementary school and his father was a music teacher and musician. The family eventually moved to Northern New Jersey where George attended High Point Regional High School.
While studying film and video production at the Center for Media Arts at New Jersey City University, he completed various internships, including marketing at Sony Pictures Classics and locations with NBC's 'Law and Order'.
In the following decades he worked and a producer, editor, writer and director for all the major networks, as well as independent features and documentaries.
In 2002 his film, 'March' premiered in Hollywood, California as part of the New York International Independent Film Festival. In addition the film enjoyed a sold out New York screening, then was awarded "Best Drama" at the 2002 Hollywood Underground Film Festival in San Francisco. It was also selected to screen as the feature presentation of the New Filmmakers Winter Series in March of 2003. The New York Independent Film Monitor and New Jersey Hudson Current gave the film a favorable review in their October 2002 issue.
In 2006, George's original screenplay 'Gabriel's Light' placed in the Quarterfinals of both the Slamdance and Filmmaker's International Screenplay competitions and the semi-finals of Writemovies.com.
George moved to Los Angeles, California in 2006 and soon garnered the attention of various production companies, directors, producers and Oscar-winning talent.
In 2009 he co-produced and edited the multi-award winning feature documentary 'Sex Magic: Manifesting Maya', which was picked up by IFC Films and distributed worldwide. The film made its international premiere at Hot Docs in Toronto in May of 2010.
Since 2011 he worked on and off again in branded marketing for NBC Universal, helping to create multi Promax award-winning campaigns, including several for Unilever and Ford.
George produced several on-air and digital promos for both the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2014 Winter Olympics.
In 2012 and 2013 George was the lead editor on six of the 12 season episodes of Brand X with Russell Brand for F/X Networks.
In May 2013 George was the lead editor of opening movie and in-show comedy vignettes for the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, with featured host Rebel Wilson and guest host James Franco.
In 2015 George produced an independent video in Vietnam bringing regional focus on the dangers of canine consumption and the illegal dog theft rings throughout the country. The video was filmed in both English and Vietnamese and was used by the Vietnamese government in a series of hearing, which ultimately led to the changing of national laws making it a more lengthy and costly crime. In the following five years the rate of reported dog theft and murder for consumption went down by nearly 80%.
Between 2014 and 2017 George worked with ABC Entertainment Marketing to help launch ABC's The Muppets, winning several Promax awards for the long-form digital exclusive 'Muppets Adele" featuring Miss Piggy and Kermit.
George edited and produced several international film trailers, including Acts of Violence with Bruce Willis, Braven with Jason Mamoa and Berlin, I Love You with Keira Knightly.
In 2017 Danno successfully launched Growl Studios, a digital marketing boutique and content creator, whose clients included NBC Universal, ABC/Disney Television Studios, Discover ID, The Professional Fighter's League on ESPN, Network Music Group, ABC Entertainment Marketing, A. Smith and Company Productions, Endemol Shine, Sidecar, Warner Laughlin Studios, TBS and TNT.
In 2017 Danno produced an award-winning Facebook series for NBC's This is Us, which garnered several million views.
Between 2015 and 2017 Danno put together several Fox Sports 1 specials and one-hour shows for the UFC on Fox.
Danno produced and directed several official music videos for artists under the Network Music Group label, including 'Moment' by Roses & Revolutions and the entire live series, SYML Live at the Record Parlor in Hollywood, which had over 5 million views collectively.
In 2020 George was producer, director and head writer for season 1 of The 110 Football Show for XRM Media. The teen led comedic sports and sketch series centered around the Covid affected 2020 MLS season of the Los Angeles Football club of the MLS.
From 2021-2022 George worked with Paramount+ producing several long-form campaigns and weekly on-air promos and trailers.
In 2023 George started working as a senior creative producer with award-winning social content creator BTV in Burbank, CA.
