Mare of Easttown was released as a limited series on HBO in 2021. Three years later, creator Brad Ingelsby says he is open to developing new episodes.

"We're always open to revisiting Mare," Ingelsby told reporters during an HBO press conference via Deadline. "I would welcome the chance if we could craft the story. Mare's journey was so emotional, and it was hard to come up with an emotional story. It's hard to come up with one that could compete with losing a son and having to confront that. There are a lot of plotlines we could explore [but] I want to give Mare some space before we build up another emotional trauma. That's hard to jump back into."

ABC’s legendary sudser “General Hospital” is looking to defend its crown at the Daytime Emmys, landing 19 nominations this year — the most of any program — as the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced contenders for the landmark 50th annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

Last year, “General Hospital” was the big winner with five awards — including best daytime drama — as the telecast returned to a live, in-person event. This time out, NATAS first revealed multiple categories Tuesday night via various entertainment shows, and it looked like CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” — also in the middle of its 50th anniversary celebration — had taken an early lead.

But after all was tallied, CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” was actually next in line, with 14 nods, followed by “The Young and the Restless” (13), NBC’s “Days of Our Lives” (11) and the most-honored non-serial, the syndicated “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” also with 11.

As he makes his way downstairs and gets a knife a half-glimpsed figure, Grimcutty, slips into the house. The boy then stabs his mother, apparently at the creature’s command.

After that we meet our main characters, Asha Chaudhry, her younger brother Kamran, and their parents Leah and Amir. Asha has recently quit the track team to devote her time to creating Asmr videos.

Rather than encourage her they blame “internet addiction” for her decision. Which leads to mandatory phone-free outings and other measures. Of course, they don’t give up their group chats, one of which warns them about something called the “Grimcutty...

There’s a compelling kernel of something interesting at the heart of Grimcutty, the new Hulu film by writer/director John Ross. The film is a treatise on hysterical helicopter parents, the dangers of social media challenges and the growing concern about how much screen time is healthy. These are valid (albeit not entirely new) concerns, and horror is a great lens through which to explore them.

The issue isn’t Grimcutty’s premise, but rather its execution. This is a messy film, complete with substantial logic gaps, more than one scenery-chewing performance, and a run time that isn’t earned by its relatively thin, repetitive script.

Disney’s 20th Digital Studios has been releasing horror shorts as the Bite Size Halloween series on the Hulu streaming service for two seasons now, and a third season of the series is set to premiere on October 1st. Tomorrow! With that date so near, a trailer for Bite Size Halloween season 3 has arrived online and can be seen in the embed above.

The Tribeca Film Festival announced programming today for its N.O.W. (New Online Works) section, an inspired array of established and emerging creators who are pushing the boundaries of online storytelling.

Top-lining the section is the premiere of “Awake, A Dream from Standing Rock,” a documentary from the Oscar-nominated team of Josh Fox and James Spione and Executive Producer Shailene Woodley. The project is a collaboration with indigenous filmmaker Myron Dewey about the Native-led resistance against the Dakota Access Pipeline. Eli Roth’s Crypt TV will premiere “Monster Madness,” a series of several character shorts; and Op-Docs, The New York Times’ award-winning forum for short, opinionated documentaries, will screen three films at the Festival.

Last month, the fledgling Amazon Studios announced it had green lit Browsers, a workplace comedy penned by Daily Show writer David Javerbaum. As it turns out, Javerbaum will have to defeat some strong competition if he wants his show to come to fruition. A report in TechCrunch has revealed Amazon will distribute six separate comedy pilots, at which point audiences will decide which one becomes a full-length series. That's right: it's Last Comic Standing meets The Hunger Games. The six pilots have already been chosen, and unlike the similarly-styled TV Reset Project, most of the creators are comedy notables: Doonesbury creator Garry Trudeau will create a pilot called Alpha House, about four senators who live together. The aforementioned Browsers will be in the running. Kevin Sussman and John Ross Bowie, who play Stuart and Barry respectively on Big Bang Theory, will write Dark Minions, which will have a workplace tone...

It was a little over a year ago when Brian Feeney's The Echo Game was picked up for distribution by Mti Home Video, and now that it's available on DVD, the filmmaker has provided with a few new stills along with an update on how and where you can watch the flick.

Feeney tells us: "The Echo Game (review here) is now available at Amazon, iTunes, Blockbuster Online, and a number of Video on Demand services including Time Warner and Comcast. In addition, the DVD is being carried by several major video chains in the South." The DVD features include a commentary, behind-the-scenes featurette, trailers, and optional Spanish subtitles.

Just what is The Echo Game? When a female killer is on the loose, looking for people formerly involved in The Echo Project, a secret experiment that tests children for psychic ability, the only thing she has to gain is their power.

Audiences might expect Anne Cassavettes (Judy Clement) to be the star. She does start off the film with a bang, and despite being a simple comic book style villain, her importance sets the stage for the rest of the film. This character comes through like an evil version of Professor X from the "X-Men." She wants to absorb the abilities of other telekinetically talented youths.

Mti Home Video has released the poster art for The Echo Game, while also announcing their acquisition of this title. The Echo Game was completed in 2009 by first time director Brian Feeney. This title will release September 27th, through Mti Home Video and this horror tale tells of psychic powers, the Echo Project and of young children being exploited by "rogue scientists." After the brutal and somewhat otherworldly death of Rachel (Angela Landis) - a woman already long thought dead – it becomes clear that there are some things her ex-lover April (Alisha Seaton) has never comes to term with.

For instance, she’s never revealed to anyone that she is raising Rachel’s daughter Sarah (Melissa Lee) as her own. Rachel’s posthumous return begins to wreak havoc as Sarah begins having visions of her. And that’s just the least of April’s problems because they’ve now fallen under the radar of a crazy scientist named Anne Cassavettes (Judy Clement) who needs Sarah’s extrasensory powers and will do anything to get her.

There are so many elements to be tinkered with in the world of the supernatural horror genre.

We haven't heard much about Brian Feeney's The Echo Game since the first of the year, but there's been a lot going on behind the scenes of the flick -- such as acquiring distribution, cutting a new trailer, and prepping for a film fest fun. Read on for the details.

First off, The Echo Game was picked up for distribution by Mti Home Video and has officially been rated R by the MPAA for "bloody violence, some nudity, brief sexuality and language".

In addition, the flick will screening at the 7th annual Eerie Horror Fest (Pennsylvania, October 7-10), the 2010 Big Bear Horror Film Festival (California, October 15-17), and the 5th annual Spooky Movie Film Festival (Washington, DC, October 21-25). Further festival dates are still to be announced.

And he's willing to kill anyone in his way to make that happen. Feeney co-wrote the script with John Ross who also co-produces alongside Doug Spice, Asa Shumskas-Tait. Director Brian Feeney provided Dread Central with an exclusive first look at the trailer for his supernatural slasher flick The Echo Game (see it below) as well as a piece of promotional artwork and a couple of stills from the flick, which is currently in post-production.

The film stars Alisha Seaton and Jeannie Bolet as April Reilly and Casey Lin, “a young lesbian couple who must protect their daughter (Melissa Lee) from rogue scientist Anne Cassavettes (Judy Clement), who’s on a murderous rampage to steal the girl’s psychic powers for herself,” Feeney says. “It’s low-budget but looks great (Jeffrey Waldron served as director of photography), and we got some great gore out of it, too.” Liliya Czarina, Angela Landis, Laurel Vail, and Robert McAtee round out the principal cast.
