Youngest son of José Henrique de Morais Cardoso de Menezes, great-grandson of the first Viscount and first Count of Margaride Nobleman of Coat of Arms of Cardoso (timber) and de Macedo with crowns of Viscount and of Count, great-grandson of the first Viscount who refused to be the first Count of Morais (brother of the first Baron of Gouvinhas), and descendant of a bastard son of Louis XV, King of France, and second civil wife Maria Eugénia Maya de Lucena.
