Barbara Bowen(IX)
- Producer
I was born in Arizona. My dad was a bull rider who reminds me of Clint Eastwood, and I'm his only child. Today, I'm a single mother with one grown daughter. I love travel, music, and dancing, and find it fun to dress up. I'm a model and a theatrically trained actress who loves to step outside herself and pretend to be someone else. I've been compared to Paris Hilton, Christie Brinkley, and Cameron Diaz. My nickname is Barbie. My heart has been in theater and film since my first casting call in Tucson, Arizona in 1997 for the movie "9 1/2 Weeks" starring Mickey Rourke and Don Johnson. Since then, I've been cast in an array of commercial advertisements, had many roles in stage performances, and performed skits in Old Tucson and for Cruise Lines.
FUN FACT: Recently I was approached by the J.J. Abrams Production's team to appear in a film they were doing in the bay area.
Currently I work in real estate. I'm the founder of a nonprofit called "Single Mom's Real Estate Network." I've been interviewed in the bay area on the famous KTVU network to promote my fundraiser.
I'm thrilled to announce I've been cast as breast cancer nurse, Toni in Marneen Fields award-winning screenplay "Who's Gonna Take Care of Me?" I'm also an associate producer on the true drama about her schizophrenic and homeless mother. The film will be submitted to Academy award qualifying film festivals once completed in 2023.
I'm truly passionate about PHILANTHROPY and work with the Jimmy V Fundraising Foundation in Napa Valley where millions are raised on a yearly basis for the Cancer Research Society.
