I started off in acting, then writing scripts, then filmmaking. My first film was an industry funded feature. It was not a great experience, so I lost the interest and passion for acting and filmmaking.
I returned to filmmaking eight years later, when the technology gave me more freedom to be creative. I wanted to learn to be a filmmaker from scratch. Making films and acting on my own terms to learn inexpensively.
The key is not just to learn how to make films, anybody can do that now, the key is to also learn how to build a creative business around your work. If you want to build your own body of work today, you also have to be an entrepreneur.
