Nikolay Stoyanov(II)

Nikolay Stoyanov, Bulgarian painter and illustrator. Graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Sofia University. In 1963 he joined the Union of Bulgarian Artists (UBA). For many years he worked consistently with Bulgarian books; illustrated many children's works, among which there were a large number of Bulgarian fairy tales and legends, as well as poems and stories by Bulgarian authors - the poetess Dora Geib, the storyteller Angel Karaliychev, the writers Asen Bosev, Mikhail Lakatnik, Tsvetan Angelov and others. He took part in numerous prestigious events, where he was nominated and awarded various prizes: at the National Exhibition of Bulgarian Illustration, the Bratislava Biennale, the International Book Fair in Bologna and others. For illustrations for the book "Children with Wings" by Radoy Kirov, published in 1987, he received the Hans Christian Andersen Prize in 1990.
