Sammy Hagar appeared in the A.J. Foyt ABC Racing pits at the INDY Car race at Sonoma, California on August 26, 2007. Vic Johnson later surprised Hagar when he started working with the pit crew, changing the rear tires on
Darren Manning's #14 A.J. Foyt ABC Racing INDY Car during the race. Sammy Hagar half-jokingly warned him to "protect your hands" as Johnson was his lead guitarist.
