The holiday season is here! And while visions of sugar plums are dancing in our heads, so are flashes of flight delays and long hours on the tarmac.

Air travel is often a hassle, especially during the holidays, and unfortunately, adding a pet to the mix often makes it more difficult. But fear not: “The Points Guy” Brian Kelly is here with advice to help you and Fido make it to where you need to go this winter as smoothly as possible.

The family of Chicago author Amy Krouse Rosenthal — whose essay titled “You May Want to Marry My Husband” touched millions of readers — has found the perfect way to honor the beloved wife and mother who died on March 13 following a battle with ovarian cancer.

Ten years ago, Sterling K. Brown and Brian Tyree Henry met while working on the Tarell Alvin McCraney play “Wig Out” at the Sundance Theater Lab.

Both actors were playing drag queens, and one day, Henry – who was sporting a thick beard at the time – asked Brown to help shave his face.

“He did it,” Henry recalled. “He went and got clippers, and we’ve been best friends ever since. Once you shave a guy’s face, man, you’re best friends after that.”

Cut to 2016, and after years paying dues on stage and in small roles, Brown and Henry both coincidentally had the breakthrough year of their careers.

Brown, of course, won an Emmy portraying Christopher Darden on FX’s “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story,” and now stars in the fall’s new hit NBC series “This Is Us.” (He also just landed a role in “Marvel’s Black Panther.

Whether you’re a Groundlings vet or Los Angeles’ next great improvisation artist, mark your calendars: the Hollywood Improv Festival comes to the City of Angels Sept. 18–20. Unlike Phoenix, San Francisco, and several other cities with thriving comedy scenes, L.A. seldom gathers its diverse communities to celebrate the art of improv. The Hif, organized by the Middle Theatre Company and partnered with the National Improv Network, seeks to change that. Come September they’ll bring together top talent from across the country for a weekend of fun performances, as well as panels led by improv experts at the likes of Second City La, The Nerdist School, The Miles Stroth Workshop, and Westside Comedy.
