Wilson F. Castillo is an up-and-coming director and filmmaker that was born and raised in Cuenca, Ecuador. He studied Film/TV direction and production at the University of Azuay (UDA). He worked for 4 years at Unision TV, then he worked as an programming advisor at TeleCuenca, where he helped to renew the image and shows they were offering.
He also has a background as a commercial and wedding videos. As a Filmmaker he has been inspired by great directors such as Alfonso Cuaron, Christopher Nolan and Guillermo Del Toro.
In the USA Castillo has worked with the Latino Community, helping them with the production of Short Films. He has directed and written shorts like "Amor Del Negrito", "Liberate 2", "Secuestrados" / "Hostages" (2023), that premiered in a Flagship Movie Theater like Regal Union Square, a Broadway Theater in New York City. He has also other films like "Insidia", "Reunidas", "Desconocidos" and "Capturados".
As a director he has excellent written and visual storytelling skills, he is able to oversee the creative and visual production of a film. He also has great communication skills that he uses to work with many actors and performers.
