Along with being nominated for Best Drama, "Becoming Lucy" saw Nick's score nominated for "Best Background Score" in the "Short of the Month" online film awards in January 2016.

Nick's career as a film composer has run along side a successful career as a high level rowing/crew coach. He even invented a way to compose music specifically for the unique rhythms found in the sport. This provides rowers with the exact cadence required at different stroke rates to stay in time while remaining focused on power and technique. He's also managed to reverse engineer it for film production. This means that, of the few films which have rowing as a central core to their story line, production shots and post production can be linked by a common rhythmic element, in much the same way a dance scene is filmed.
