Adapted from the 2016 German film “Texts for You” (“SMS für Dich”), Screen Gems acquired the rights and it came to the filmmaker after a general meeting with Scott Strauss, the company’s executive vice president. Exclusive: Regina Hall (Honk for Jesus. Save your Soul.) has closed a deal to star alongside Sadie Sink, Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Murray Bartlett in O’Dessa, Searchlight Pictures‘ original rock opera from writer-director Geremy Jasper (Patti Cake$), which commences production in Croatia in May.

Set in a post-apocalyptic future, O’Dessa follows Sink’s same-name farm girl on an epic quest to recover a cherished family heirloom. Her journey leads her to a strange and dangerous city where she meets her one true love (Harrison) – but in order to save his soul, she must put the power of destiny and song to the ultimate test.

Now The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Hall is returning to horror comedy territory, signing on to star in writer/director Jim Strouse’s Breitenbush.

Hall will be taking on the role of aspiring district attorney Kate, who, after her husband vanishes on a camping trip during which everyone ingests a powerful hallucinogen and summons an angry prehistoric creature, must return to the site of the ill-fated trip with her friends to face the forces that led to his disappearance.

Regina Hall has committed to star in and produce Breitenbush, a horror comedy from writer/director Jim Strouse. Hall’s returning to a genre she knows well after starring in four Scary Movie installments.

Hall also starred in Strouse’s 2015 romantic comedy People Places Things.

“We’re thrilled to be announcing our latest Yale Entertainment project. Jim and Regina are at the top of the list of people who we’ve wanted to [collaborate] with, and this script is so unique and fun – we’re so excited to get this into production,” said Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman, announcing Yale Entertainment has picked up rights to the film.

The makers of ‘Love Again’ starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan dropped the trailer of the film on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, and promised a complete love-filled ride.

It tells the tale of a grieving Priyanka who gives love another chance after a loss. Priyanka’s American pop-star husband, singer-actor Nick Jonas has a cameo in the film as they share an awkward kiss.

The trailer starts with a glimpse of Priyanka as Mira who struggles to move on with her life after the death of her boyfriend. She keeps sending texts at the old number which is now being used by Sam, as his new work phone.

Rob, who is a journalist, gets fascinated by Mira’s honest and heartbroken texts as she opens up about her old wounds. Rob and Mira cross paths at an opera night and hit it off but Rob is scared...

Priyanka Chopra Jonas has a sweet Valentine’s Day surprise for her fans.

She posted a new poster for her upcoming romantic comedy “Love Again,” which also stars Sam Heughan and Celine Dion. After “The Matrix Resurrections,” this will be Priyanka’s first theatrical release.

It's based on a book that was already turned into another German movie called Text for You, which is about the story and a woman who finds love over texts. Which sounds a bit scary more than lovely. A young woman tries to ease the pain of her fiancé's death (who walks out after an argument and never returns unfortunately) by sending romantic texts to his old cell phone number, and forms a connection with the man the number has been reassigned to. "What if love was only a text away?" The movie features new music from Celine Dion, and stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Sam Heughan, Russell Tovey, Celia Imrie, Lydia West, Omid Djalili, plus Celine Dion.

The ninth annual Miami Film Festival Gems will present Iranian filimmaker Jafar Panahi with the Precious Gem Award. The award will be presented virtually before Friday’s screening of “No Bears.”

The festival, sponsored by Miami Dade College, runs Nov. 3-10 at Mdc’s Tower Theater.

“I thank all the people involved in the Miami Film Festival, who considered me worthy of receiving this award.” Panahi stated in an audio message relayed from prison. ”But… I have dreams that go beyond all the awards in the world. Sony has moved Love Again, the romantic comedy starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Sam Heughan and Celine Dion, to May 12, 2023. It previously had a released date of February 10.

Rogers, an understated veteran and tastemaker who spent the last 12 years at ICM, built a talent roster across film and television, including Regina Hall, William H. Macy, Wanda Sykes, Chris Tucker, James Spader, Ken Jeong, Russell Hornsby, Michael Cera, Walton Goggins, Nathalie Emmanuel, Michael Rainey Jr., Blair Underwood, Felicity Huffman, Marc Maron and James Strouse. Most are expected to make the move with Rogers.
