That lead to her first network television appearance as a schoolgirl with an attitude in a comedy sketch on the long-running Australian variety show Hey Hey It's Saturday (1971). More film and television credits followed, including recurring appearances on the famous Australian Soap Opera, Neighbours (1985), Police Drama, Blue Heelers (1994) and sketch comedy show The Micallef Program (1998).
In 2008, Elizabeth Sandy extended her career to Los Angeles, working steadily in film, television and theatre and produced a number of short and feature-length films, including the award-winning film Starting from Scratch (2013).
