Tyya Jade Mattei

Tyya Jade Mattei is a Canadian child actress born on August 14, 2012 in Mississauga and raised in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. Best known for playing Barbara Nichols on the Canadian Screen Award Nominated episode "Dark Pond" on Paranormal Revenge (2023) and Young Sofie Meijer in the Short Film The Empty Chair. In the summer of 2024, she was cast as the lead role and finished filming an upcoming feature film (more details to come).
She started taking acting classes at the age of 8 with the Toronto Academy of Acting for Film and Television in Toronto and graduated with a certificate from their Children's Acting program.
She is also an accomplished competitive dancer with CDC (Canadian Dance Company), a pianist, swimmer and equestrian. She landed her first role as the principal character on an episode of a TV show at the age of 10.
