"Desperate Housewives" has been off the air for less than a year, but if you miss Eva Longoria, you'll be happy to know she's returning to television. No, not as Isabella on "Y&R" (if that was to happen, it should have happened a year ago); rather, the actress will star in a primetime animated series that she will also executive-produce.
"Mother Up!" chronicles the daily life of Rudi Wilson (Longoria), a former music industry exec-turned-suburban mom. Rudi wants to be as good at motherhood as she was in the music biz, but struggles when she realizes she's not the greatest parent. The series also stars Canadians Jesse Camacho ("Less Than Kind") as Dick, Gabrielle Miller ("Corner Gas") as Sarah, Cle Bennett ("Flashpoint") as 2Bit, Helen Taylor as Jenny, Rebecca Husain as Apple, and Scott McCord as Greg.

Kim Cattrall takes 'Producing' role
TORONTO -- Kim Cattrall has joined the voice cast for the Canadian primetime animated sitcom "Producing Parker", which is set to bow on Canada's E! network in spring 2009.

E! has ordered 13 half-hours of the animated comedy from co-producers Breakthrough Animation and Philippine Animation Studio.
The series, which sends up the daytime talk show genre, was created by Laura Kosterski and Breakthrough's Kevin Gillis and Carolyn Newman.

CanWest buys animated sitcom 'Parker'
TORONTO -- Canadian cartoon producer Breakthrough Animation on Wednesday said it has sold 13 half hours of "Producing Parker", a primetime animated version of the day-time talk show genre, to domestic broadcaster CanWest MediaWorks.
Toronto-based Breakthrough said CanWest acquired the animated sitcom for its TVtropolis cable channel, with a fall 2009 bow in the works.
"Producing Parker" will portray Parker, an overworked and underpaid TV producer, and her quirky crew at work on "The Dee Show", a daytime talk show that sells viewers on "having it all."
The series' cast of animated characters includes Dee, the self-absorbed, high maintenance host, Vince, the cynical copywriter, and Chicago Hyatt, a sexy intern.
Kevin Gillis, executive producer and managing partner at Breakthrough Animation, said "Producing Parker" moves beyond the young male demo to appeal to women as well.
The animated sitcom was developed by Laura Kosterski ("Naked Josh") and Breakthrough Animation's Gillis, Carolyn Newman and Christin Simms.
