Pierre Filmon is a Caméra d'Or & Golden Eye nominated director for the documentary CLOSE ENCOUNTERS WITH VILMOS ZSIGMOND (Première in the Official Selection at Cannes Film Festival 2016). One of his latest documentaries is JERRY SCHATZBERG, LANDSCAPE PORTRAIT (Première in the Official Selection at Venice Film Festival 2022, then Deauville Film Festival 2023).
Member of the Cinémathèque Française, SCAM and L'ARP, Pierre served as a Jury member at Cannes for the Volcano Prize in 2017 and the Script Prize in 2024. His second feature, LONG TIME NO SEE (2020) with Laëtitia Eïdo and Pierre Rochefort, after screenings in 35 Film Festivals (Shanghaï, Moscow, Morelia, Fajr, Goa...) earning 5 awards, theatrically released in November 2021 in France. His new feature, shot entirely in India, THE GREAT DEPARTURE (2025), is currently in post-production.
