She was a student at the Preston College of dance and drama. She has
achieved fame playing the teenage temptress Karen Jackson in the very
popular Channel 4 series, Shameless (2004).
Gave birth to her first child at age 32, a son Jack in May 2016. Child's father is her partner, Ben Batt.
