Casey Bloys has damped down speculation that Euphoria’s third season won’t start filming in the new year.
Bloys, who is Chairman and CEO, HBO and Max Content said “nothing has changed”. “Somebody said something online and then this whole thing started. We are shooting the season, I have read the scripts, we’re happy, we’re moving ahead,” he added. “I know the show gets a lot of attention now because it has created some genuine movie stars, and they have various projects that they’re working on. But we are shooting this season, so nothing has changed.”
This comes after online reports that the Sam Levinson-created show would nix its 2025 shoot and ostensibly coming to an end.
In July, HBO revealed that the third season of the youth-skewing drama would shoot its third season in January, with filming pushed back from 2024 as Levinson was still working on scripts.

Joshua Weigel’s Sound of Hope (2024) is a well-intentioned drama that recounts the remarkable true story of the Martin family, who adopted 77 foster children in the East Texas community of Possum Trot. Centring around Donna and Bishop W.C. Martin (Nika King and Demetrius Grosse), this inspiring tale celebrates the power of faith, community, and human compassion in the south of the United States.
The film focuses primarily on the Martins’ faith-driven motivations and the inspiring achievement of uniting their community to take action. It celebrates their extraordinary efforts, though it places less emphasis on exploring the emotional and psychological complexities of the adoption process. While the story centres on the Martins’ leadership and the community’s collective spirit, there is definitely room for a deeper exploration of the adopted children’s perspectives, which could add further emotional resonance to the narrative. Nevertheless, Sound of Hope’s focus on the...

Based on remarkable work in a small Texan community to adopt children considered ‘too difficult’ to foster, the film gets lost in saccharine cliche
After its controversial US box office hit Sound of Freedom, producer Angel Studios has put its weight behind another title that crudely mines child misery. Directed by Joshua Weigel, the film purports to tackle America’s broken foster care system through the true story of Donna Martin and her husband Bishop Wc Martin, played here by Nika King and Demetrius Grosse. Living in Possum Trot, Texas, the Christian couple took in youngsters deemed too “difficult” to place within the foster system. More extraordinarily, they also galvanised 22 families in their congregation to follow their steps.
In the end, a total of 77 displaced children were adopted within the community. On screen, however, this fascinating story is superficially told through saccharine cliches. Though forceful in its pro-adoption stance, the...

Will we see Euphoria Season 3 in 2025? HBO has just announced that the highly-anticipated third season will begin filming in January.
While the third-season renewal was announced way back in February 2022, the production has been pushed back several times since then. HBO says that all of the principal cast members will return.
“I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on Euphoria in January,” said Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO programming and head of HBO drama series and films.
“We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of Euphoria to life for the fans.”
The popular series’ first season premiered in June 2019, and the second season launched in January 2022. Two one-hour specials aired in December 2020 and January 2021.
Sam Levinson created the Emmy-winning drama series and is the writer, director, and executive producer.

The chances of Euphoria airing its third season next year have increased after HBO revealed that the youth-skewing drama is set to enter production in January.
Deadline reported in March that filming plans for the Sam Levinson-created series had been pushed back with Levinson still working on scripts.
Filming will now start at the top of next year with all of the principle cast returning. Also, expect a time jump between the second and third seasons.
At the time of the announcement in March, cast members were being allowed to take other jobs such as Eric Dane joining Jensen Ackles and Jessica Camacho in Prime Video’s thriller series Countdown.
HBO is cognizant of this move so will film around certain actors’ schedules. It’s not clear whether the third season will be its last but it’s hard to imagine HBO finding time in its stars’ schedule for...

After a very long hiatus between seasons, HBO’s Euphoria is preparing to head back into production.
Filming on the Sam Levinson-created drama’s third season is slated to begin in January 2025 — just about three years after the premiere of season two. HBO says all of the principal cast, inlcuding Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi and Hunter Schafer, is set to return.
“I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on Euphoria in January,” said Francesca Orsi, executive vp HBO programming and head of HBO drama series and films. “We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. HBO hasn’t set an airdate, but it’s unlikely that Euphoria would be ready to go before late next year, which would mean a gap of up to four years between seasons.

In a small East Texas town called Possum Trot, Reverend Wc Martin and his wife Donna felt called to help children in need. In the late 1990s, the couple began adopting youth from the foster system, many of whom were considered difficult placements. Donna, in particular, felt compassion for these kids, having lost her own mother, who left behind 18 children of her own.
While Wc took some time to come around, in the end, he supported Donna’s mission. Together, they opened their homes and hearts to four kids, including a teenager named Terri, who was escaping severe abuse. Donna hoped to give all these youth comfort, yet Terri in particular faced immense struggles and needed patience as she learned to heal.
Donna and Wc’s example ultimately inspired others in their congregation. Before they knew it, 22 families had joined in adopting 77 children from foster care around town. It was...

The East Texas town of Possum Trot received national notice in 2008 when ABC News, followed by “Oprah” and a slew of television shows that knew a heart-warmer when they saw it, sang the deserved praises of Rev. W.C. Martin and Donna Martin. The couple are the real-life basis of the faith-infused drama “Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot,” opening July 4 after a Juneteenth sneak nationwide.

Angel Studios' Sound Of Hope: The Story Of Possum Trot tells the true story of Bishop and First Lady Donna Martin, and their tiny Bennett Chapel church, in the town of Possum Trot in the woods of East Texas.
Twenty-two families linked arms and courageously adopted seventy-seven of the most difficult-to-place children in the local foster care system, igniting a national movement for vulnerable children that continues today.
Last week, we sat down with stars Demetrius Grosse (Fear The Walking Dead) and Nika King (Euphoria) to discuss their roles as Reverend Wc Martin and First Lady Donna Martin.
Explaining how they tapped into the charming dynamic between the husband and wife, we hear from the actors about getting to meet the real-life Reverand and First Lady, what it was like delivering sermons on set, and working with rising star Diaana Babnicova.

After the success of Sound of Freedom, it became hard to ignore Angel Studios’s growing power in the film industry. The production company not only found a new way to distribute its movies. It found an incredibly effective way to ensure its movies are seen. For a film like Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot, ensuring audiences see your issue-based film may change lives. Creating a pseudo-shared franchise with Sound of Freedom may create huge dividends for Angel Studios. They also brought Letitia Wright on board to produce the film.
However, while reception to Sound of Freedom‘s direction trended positive, Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot struggles with this aspect. It features two brilliant performances at the top of the movie. The younger actors struggle, primarily due to how they’ve been directed. The importance of the story still shines through, but the emotional...

Will Euphoria Season 3 ever see the light of day?
That’s been the big question ever since stars like Jacob Elordi and Sydney Sweeney soared in popularity after the release of Euphoria Season 2 in 2022.

Filming for Euphoria season three has been put on hold.
The Sam Levinson drama was expected to start production soon on its long-awaited new season. But that plan has changed to give Levinson more time to work on the dark teen drama’s scripts.
In addition, the show’s cast — which includes Dune: Part Two star Zendaya and Anyone but You star Sydney Sweeney — is being allowed to pursue other opportunities.
“HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season,” HBO said in a statement. “In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”
That said, the cast has not been released from their contracts, and HBO still intends to get Euphoria season three on the air sometime in 2025.
In an interview with Elle for Zendaya’s September 2023 cover story, Levinson had teased the new season as a “film noir,” saying Zendaya’s...

“Euphoria” Season 3 has been delayed at HBO.
“HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season,” an HBO spokesperson told Variety. “In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”
The scripts for Season 3 are still being written. The news comes after a report that the show’s third season has been scrapped entirely.
Production on the show’s third season had long been delayed, in part due to the Hollywood strikes and the July 2023 death of Angus Cloud, who played local drug dealer Fez. The show has also launched most of its cast — including Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney and Hunter Schafer — into the upper echelon of Hollywood, making it harder to coordinate production schedules.
In November 2023, HBO confirmed that the show’s third season was expected to premiere in 2025, meaning there would be at least a three-year gap between seasons since...

It's no secret that the production of a television show is quite strict. With a massive cast and crew that needs to be managed, and a hard deadline to meet a season premiere, they must adhere to a tight schedule that leaves as little to chance as possible.
However, TV show creators sometimes manage to deviate from the plan and inject some impromptu creativity into the filming of a scene. This can be the result of a sudden strike of inspiration on the part of the cast, the director, the writer or even the showrunner. But sometimes, this random detour away from the script comes about completely by accident. Whatever the cause, these unplanned flourishes lead to scenes that are far more real for those involved than what might have thought. Because of the added realism, these scenes tend to pack more of an emotional punch or a gut-busting laugh,...

“Euphoria” Season 3 has been slated for 2025, HBO boss Casey Bloys announced at a press event Thursday morning.
The Sam Levinson series’ title was shown in a sizzle reel that said “Coming in 2025” alongside “The Last of Us” Season 2, “The White Lotus” Season 3 and the “It” prequel series “Welcome to Derry.”
Not much else has been revealed about the upcoming third season of “Euphoria,” except for Levinson teasing in August that he views the next batch of episodes as a “film noir.” The showrunner said that through the eyes of Zendaya’s Rue, he will “explore what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world.”
“Euphoria” stars Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Angus Cloud, Barbie Ferreira and Dominic Fike as troubled high schoolers caught up in a world of drugs, love and crime.
Eric Dane, Storm Reid, Colman Domingo, Javon Walton, Austin Abrams and Nika King also star.

Zendaya took to social media on Tuesday to pay tribute to her Euphoria co-star and onscreen savior Angus Cloud, who died at 25.
The Emmy-winning actress’ emotional statement comes the day after news broke that Cloud, who played Fezco in the hit HBO series, died a week after burying his father in Ireland, a loss his family said he took very hard.
“Words are not enough to describe the infinite beauty that is Angus (Conor),” Zendaya wrote. “I’m so grateful I got the chance to know him in this life, to call him a brother, to see his warm kind eyes and bright smile, or hear his infectious cackle of a laugh (I’m smiling now just thinking of it).”
She continued, “I know people use this expression often when talking about folks they love…’they could light up any room they entered’ but boy let me tell you, he was the best at it.

“Scream VI” slashed through the competition at the Thursday box office, taking in $5.7 million in preview showings. The Adam Driver-starring sci-fi thriller “65” followed suit with $1.2 million.
The latest installment in the beloved horror franchise opens Friday in approximately 3,675 domestic locations. Previews took place Thursday evening at 3,125 theaters starting at 5:30 p.m. The Paramount and Spyglass Media Group film is expected to earn $35 to $40 million this weekend, possibly besting “Scream V,” which opened to $30 million. For a comparison, that film grossed $3.5 million at the Thursday box office in January 2022. It went on to make $81.6 million in the U.S. and $137.7 million worldwide against a $25 million budget.
Bolstered by a starry cast and stellar early reviews (79% from critics and 93% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes), “Scream VI” is aiming to beat the franchise box office record, currently held by “Scream 3” with $34.7 million ($60.3 million in today’s currency).

One of the trailers that seemingly went under the radar during this year's Super Bowl commercial slot is the upcoming sci-fi film starring Adam Driver, 65.
Here's everything you need to know:
What Is It about?

With little hope of rescue but one last opportunity, Mills and Koa, the only other survivor, embark on a treacherous journey across an unfamiliar landscape teeming with dangerous prehistoric beasts (dinosaurs!), as they fight to stay alive. This epic tale chronicles their desperate struggle to survive in a time long before humanity, and the incredible obstacles they must overcome to stay alive.

The 2023 Super Bowl is still over two days away, but Sony Pictures has decided to give us an "early look" at a new (wordless) teaser trailer for the Adam Driver-led sci-fi thriller "65." It was appropriately released 65 hours ahead of Sunday's football kick-off. Sony is also indulging in some clever wordplay with the words "big game." It has two meanings, as you can tell. On one hand, it refers to the 2023 Super Bowl as the big football game — and also dinosaurs, in that Adam Driver is hunting some very big game.
In "65," as with HBO's excellent ongoing "The Last of Us," the male protagonist Mills (Driver) must keep a young girl called Koa (Ariana Greenblatt) safe from all kinds of monsters. The two are the only survivors of a crashlanding, one that has somehow taken Mills and his futuristic gun 65 million years into Earth's past. That's why there are so many dinosaurs around.

Any parent who somehow finds themselves watching HBO’s addictively compelling Euphoria must pray their children know no one like Rue or are raising anyone like her. The series, which debuted in 2019 just as the world locked down, has only grown in popularity. My high school students, apparently, didn’t trip over it until season two arrived earlier this year. Given the higher profile and awards it has justly earned, HBO has combined the two seasons onto DVD for home consumption, no subscription required.
Rue, played with a rawness by Zendaya, is a 17-year-old whose life began to spiral out of control after the death of her father. Alcohol, drugs, and sex were combined in varying quantities as she sought a balm, but repeated attempts at rehab proved futile. As the show’s narrator, Rue shows us her pessimistic outlook on life and helplessness; without a real sense she’s seeking redemption or salvation.

Euphoria was HBO's first foray into programming for a younger audience than its typical fare.
The Zendaya-fronted series has delivered bumper ratings, a rave reception, and recognition with major awards wins.
When the series snagged a third season renewal, rumors started to emerge that the series would be wrapping up.
However, HBO's Chief Content Officer Casey Bloys shut down reports that the series is ending.
In an interview with Deadline after the show scooped up six awards at the Emmys, Bloys clarified the network's intention.
He wants the show to continue beyond a third season and for the series to evolve as its characters get older.
There is always that worry with dramas set in high schools that they will try to keep the teenagers as teenagers for as long as possible.
But it seems like Euphoria is embracing the change, and that could keep things fresh for a fourth season -- and beyond.

Zendaya's win for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series during the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday found the star breaking a record.
Zendaya, who plays the troubled Rue Bennett on HBO's smash hit series Euphoria, became the youngest-ever two-time acting winner.
It was undoubtedly a huge moment, especially considering the actress has consistently turned in a stellar performance on the series.
Zendaya accepted the award by saying that she was "honored to be beside" the "incredible actresses" in the category.
The actresses also in the category were Melanie Lynskey (Yellowjackets), Laura Linney (Ozark), Reese Witherspoon (The Morning Show), and Killing Eve's Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh.
The star went on to thank those associated with Euphoria.
"Thank you for making such a safe space to make this very difficult show. I love you all so much,” said Zendaya.
“Thank you to the Academy, thank you to my friends and family,...

When Euphoria Season 3 gets underway, one of its most popular characters will not be present.
Barbie Ferreira stunned fans this week when she took to Instagram to reveal her departure.
“After four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character Kat, I’m having to say a very teary eyed goodbye," the star shared.
“I hope many of you could see yourself in her like i did and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today.”
Kat was a pivotal character on Euphoria Season 1, but the character was underutilized on Euphoria Season 2, leading to a string of reports of unrest between the actress and series creator Sam Levison.
Some of the rumors claimed Ferreira walked off the set multiple times while shooting the second season.
