Kai Nordberg is a CEO and co-founder of a Helsinki based production company Making Movies Oy (Ltd.). He produced the Oscar short listed and Golden Globe nominated The Fencer (2015). Over the past 20 years Nordberg has produced 14 features and more than 50 documentaries and short films distributed worldwide.

Kai Nordberg was born 1968 in Helsinki. During 1989 - 1994 he worked as a foreign correspondent and photographer in Berlin. In 1989 he also started film, TV and journalism studies at Freie Universität in Berlin.

Making Movies Oy (Ltd.) is a Finnish film production company based in Helsinki. Established in 1996 the company produces and co-produces fiction and documentary films for international market. The managers, founding members and shareholders of Making Movies are Kai Nordberg and Kaarle Aho.

Since 1996 Making Movies has produced 14 feature films and more than 80 documentary and short films and TV-dramas. The films produced by Making Movies have been distributed in more than 40 countries worldwide.

The feature films include Klaus Härö's One Last Deal (2019) and The Fencer (2015) nominated for Golden Globe and short listed for Oscar, Heavy Trip (2018), Law Of The Land (2017), Little Wing (Nordic Ministry of Culture - Film price 2017) Petri Kotwica's Rat King (Tribeca and Shangai International Film Festival 2012), Black Ice (2007) premiering in the Berlinale 2008 competition, and Homesick (2005), a prize winner in several international film festivals, as well as Jan Forsström's The Princess of Egypt (Mannheim-Heidelberg Competition 2013).

The documentaries produced or co-produced by Making Movies include many award winning films like by Happiness, (Sundance Documentary competition 2014, world rights sold to Universal Pictures) and A Decent Factory (IDFA 2004) by Thomas Balmés, In the Dark (2004) by Sergey Dvortsevoy, The Magic Life of V (Sundance, Berlinale 2019), The Good Postman (Sundance), Love & Engineering (Tribeca, Hotdocs, Visions du Réel, Karlovy Var, Sarajevo 2014) and Rules of Single Life (Sarajevo International Film Festivals, Sofia International Film Festivals 2012) by Tonislav Hristovand Look of Silence (Venice, Tiburon, Toronto 2014, Berlinale 2015) by Joshua Oppenheimer.
