Imagine this. At an early age, a woman realizes her creative talent in conceptualizing and developing ideas. Her passion in production grows as she makes her way through the departments utilizing her experiences to build her craft and excel creatively. She finds her moment as she navigates through the obstacles and processes to reveal her creative place. That place is a visionary, producer, and entrepreneur. Her name is Tonia Pound.
But first. We join Tonia's story where she held the position of Production Manager/Line Producer at CMT for five years. She thrived at creating and supervising budgets up to $3 million dollars while overseeing all logistics for multiple live performances, show episodes and special events produced for the network.
And then, it happened. Tonia began to feel burned out. Not because of the position itself. But because she felt the need to be more creative. So, to bring a little variety into her work, Tonia offered to produce the CMT 330 Studio promo. Jumping into it with enthusiasm, Advanced Imagination: CMT Studio 330 won Best Commercial in the San Francisco New Concept Film Festival. Tonia's supervisor told her 'You've missed your calling.'
Not long after, Tonia got to a place where she felt like it was time to move on. She had always told PA's that if you don't want to be seen as a PA and move up in the industry, you have to stop taking PA jobs. Tonia decided she needed to take her own advice.
But there's more. Taking her passion to more creative endeavors in the entertainment industry, Tonia's instinct and imagination made her an award-winning director/producer for multiple projects.
Here comes the best part. Realizing the market was saturated, she didn't want to chase down jobs. So, Tonia turned her efforts into an entrepreneurship and formed B.yon Entertainment, LLC to develop and pitch her own ideas. Narratives that embrace the independent spirit.(TM)
That's not all. Recently, Tonia founded and launched b.yon [radio]®, an internet radio station featuring independent artists in multiple genres. She was determined to give independent artists, signed to a minor label or unsigned, a platform to gain exposure and "Be Independent(TM)."
