Thomas Ryan is a writer/director of primarily short films, living in his hometown of Muswellbrook, NSW. He has a passion for filmmaking and storytelling with a particular focus on escalating the absurdity in everyday situations and feelings.
Through his studies for a degree in Media Productions at the University of Newcastle and beyond, Thomas has worked on a wide variety of films, documentaries, music videos and ads, as well as picked up a handful of awards and nominations.
In 2024, he joined the first iteration of the NSW Horizons regional mentorship program, which led him to take a more focused interest in regional filmmaking, despite the additional challenges it may pose.
