With Captain America: Brave New World merchandise starting to find its way into stores, a first look at the movie's Funko Pops has just been revealed.
We have Sam Wilson/Captain America, Joaquin Torres/The Falcon, Ruth/Sabra, Red Hulk, and our best look yet at The Leader. However, Tim Blake Nelson's version of the villain both is and isn't what we expected.
To put it bluntly, the classic Hulk villain is very...ordinary. Dressed in normal street clothes, his head is enlarged but this Leader isn't as dramatic in appearance as his comic book counterpart. The figure also debunks previous reports that Samuel Sterns won't be green as we see here that he shares the same jade hue as Bruce Banner.
Many fans were disappointed when The Leader wasn't revealed to be pulling the strings in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, so the hope now is Captain America: Brave New World...

With Marvel Studios forced to scrap plans for Jonathan Majors to be the Multiverse Saga's big bad, this year's San Diego Comic-Con saw Robert Downey Jr.'s MCU return confirmed...as Doctor Doom!
The decision to cast the Iron Man star in that role has divided opinions; between enlisting the McU's biggest draw and the return of the Russo Brothers, it's clear Kevin Feige hopes to recapture the success found by Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
Downey is rumoured to appear in The Fantastic Four: First Steps but will take centre stage in the aptly named Avengers: Doomsday.
During a recent interview with Nerdbunker, Captain America: Brave New World star Anthony Mackie was asked about Sam Wilson taking on Downey's Doom as the McU's new Captain America and responded, "Robert Downey Jr. has had his ass-kicking coming for a long time, and I'm very proud to say he [is] going to get it!

Much has been said about Captain America: Brave New World's supposed reshoots and test screenings; regardless of what's really gone on behind the scenes, we'd be shocked if Marvel Studios risks releasing another Eternals or Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania to kick off 2025.
Beyond the rumours, how non-fans and casual moviegoers react to the new Captain America and the fact screen icon Harrison Ford is playing a Red Hulk will be very interesting.
Now, though, we've learned that Captain America: Brave New World will have some serious competition over Valentine's Day and Presidents Day weekend in North America. Sony has just moved StudioCanal's Paddington in Peru from January 17, 2025 to February 14, 2025.
That's proven to be a good weekend for Sony in previous years as 2018's Peter Rabbit opened with $25 million before hopping its way to a domestic cume of $115.2 million.
The Paddington franchise isn't quite as popular in the U.

In a rumor that's bound to stir up quite a bit of debate, we're hearing that Marvel Studios is developing a solo project focusing on Saba, who will make her MCU debut early next year in Captain America: Brave New World.
We don't have any more details at the moment, but scooper Mttsh believes that there is a plan in place to give Sabra her own spin-off.
The decision to introduce this particular character was met with some backlash when actress Shira Hass' casting was first announced, and the controversy was reignited after the release of the first trailer back in July.
In the comics, Sabra, aka Ruth Bat-Seraph, is a mutant with superhuman strength, speed, agility, reflexes, endurance, and stamina. She first appeared in the pages of The Incredible Hulk back in 1980 as a Mossad (the Israeli Secret Service) agent.
Marvel later revealed that this part of her origin will be altered,...

It really does seem like Marvel Studios is struggling to get Captain America: Brave New World to a place they're happy with - or at least, a place they feel general audiences will be happy with.
According to insider Daniel Richtman, a third round of test-screening for the movie recently took place, and yet again, the feedback was mostly negative. Richtman believes that more changes will now be required, but Marvel may have already taken care of the necessary additional photography.
Reports that the fourth Cap adventure was set to undergo more reshoots were recently confirmed when star Anthony Mackie was spotted shooting new scenes for the movie in LA. There was speculation that these might simply have been a few minor pick-ups, but it's staring to sound like they may have been more extensive.
Is there a chance even more reshoots are scheduled? It's possible, but with Brave New World...

Ever since Steve Rogers decided to hand his shield off to his buddy Sam Wilson (a.k.a. Falcon) at the end of Avengers: Endgame, fans have wondered what was next. We got a Disney+ series that showed Sam’s hesitance to pick up the mantle of Captain America and the history that comes with it. By the end of the series, he knew he was the only person who could take on the role of Captain America. Now, where do we go? It looks like the upcoming story of super heroes and alter egos, Captain America: Brave New World, will tell us when it reaches theatre screens on February 14, 2025.

The next addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain America: Brave New World, is set to reach theatres on February 14, 2025 – and this Captain America adventure sees Anthony Mackie’s character Sam Wilson, formerly known as Falcon, carrying the shield now that his pal Steve Rogers is retired. But he’s not the only hero who’s taking on the mantle of a fellow hero in this film. With a new Captain America comes a new Falcon, as Wilson has passed his old set of wings (as seen in the TV series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) over to United States Air Force intelligence officer Joaquín Torres, played by Danny Ramirez – and director Julius Onah told Empire that the brotherhood between Sam and Joaquín is a key emotional center in the film.

When Sam Wilson takes centre stage in next February's Captain America: Brave New World, he'll have some backup in Joaquín Torres, the McU's new Falcon.
Introduced as a supporting character in Disney+'s The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, he'll suit up in this movie and our first official look at him in action alongside Captain America can be seen below.
Empire Online also spoke with Captain America: Brave New World's Julius Onah who, contrary to recent reports, has not been removed as the movie's helmer.
"There’s this incredible big brother/little brother dynamic between them," the filmmaker said of the new Captain America/Falcon dynamic. "It’s going to be one of the key emotional centres of the film."
"These guys are incredible fighters," Onah continued. "And Sam has been there and back. He’s got some tricks up his sleeve, and over the course of the...

Every good hero needs a wingman. And as The Falcon, Sam Wilson was always there to provide that for Steve Rogers’ Captain America. Now, with Wilson stepping up as the new Cap – post-Avengers: Endgame and The Falcon And The Winter Soldier – he’s got a wingman of his own. As introduced in Falcon on Disney+, Wilson’s brand-spanking-new star-spangled Cap has a Falcon of his own, Danny Ramirez’s Joaquín Torres, strapping on his own set of high-tech soaring gear to fight for justice.
While the prospect of two flying heroes brings much opportunity for big-screen spectacle, it’ll also provide some heart in a Marvel movie aiming for political-thriller intrigue. “There’s this incredible big brother/little brother dynamic between them,” director Julius Onah tells Empire of the new Cap-Falcon relationship. “It’s going to be one of the key emotional centres of the film.”

It's the superheroes' world; we're just living in it. At least that is what the next few years are going to feel like as we once again have an abundance of Marvel and DC films set to make their mark on the box office. Marvel Studios are continuing to expand its ever-growing Marvel Cinematic Universe while James Gunn and Peter Safran look to launch the DC Universe with the Man of Steel and the Girl of Steel.
Over the years, comic book movies have helped to spearhead the contemporary must-see movie trend. Even though many factors have led to an overall declining box office, superhero movies are continuously fighting to leave their cinematic mark and many of our favorite heroes have had a positive impact at movie theaters in recent years.

Update: A source familiar with the project has confirmed that Julius Onah is still on board as director of Captain America: Brave New World.
Original story follows.
Captain America: Brave New World has had a tumultuous journey to the screen, and whether every rumor about issues plaguing the production prove to be accurate or not, it seems clear that Marvel Studios is struggling to deliver the best possible version of the movie.
Amid reports of a ballooning budget, disappointing test-screenings and a lot of reshoots, the movie began another round of additional photography on Monday, and we're now hearing that another director has stepped behind the camera.
According to World of Reel, original director Julius Onah is no longer at the helm.

Julius Onah has reportedly been replaced as the director of Captain America: Brave New World. More on the story below.
Captain America: Brave New World is only a few months away, but the stories about its troubled production keep on coming. Last year, Marvel hired a new writer, and in June 2024 came the reports that the studio was spending $100m on reshoots.
World Of Reel now reports that director Julius Onah has – allegedly – been replaced for those reshoots.
The outlet’s source says the director was “in over his head” and is no longer “calling the shots”. Onah will still retain his directing credit, however, and according to the report, the Luce director is being “a good sport” about the whole thing.
Reshoots are said to be still ongoing and scheduled to last until the end of November. The budget has ballooned considerably as a result, and the film now...

Following the release of a brand-new trailer, Captain America: Brave New World star Anthony Mackie has taken to Instagram to share a new still from the movie to celebrate Veterans Day.
The image gives us another look at Mackie as Sam Wilson in his new costume. "Happy Veterans Day America. To all of our men and women in uniform, thank you for your service and sacrifice," the actor captioned his post.
In related news, it seems the recent rumor that the fourth Cap adventure was set to undergo more reshoots was accurate, as Mackie has been spotted shooting new scenes for the movie in LA. There's a good chance that these are just a few minor pick-ups, but there's speculation that additional photography was scheduled after some recent test-screenings.
According to reports, the responses from those that attended were largely mixed-negative, with the movie described as “inessential” and “flat.”

Captain America: Brave New World is finally arriving in early 2025 after lots of behind the scenes rumours – and here’s the new trailer.
Next year will mark the release of Captain America: Brave New World. It’s an apt enough title given that this is the first cinematic outing for the character since the Cap mantle was passed from Steve Rogers to Sam Wilson, following Chris Evans retiring from the role. Anthony Mackie now steps in.
We’ve already seen Mackie’s character struggle with the burden of legacy in Marvel’s TV series, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier and now his character will make his big screen debut as the shield-slinging patriot in the upcoming film directed by Julius Onah, who co-wrote the script with Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson.

Today, at the first-ever Brazil D23 fan event, Marvel Studios debuted a brand-new trailer and poster for Captain America: Brave New World, both of which you can check out below.
In the sneak peek, we see a lot more of what Sam Wilson can do as Captain America as he shows off some of the impressive abilities the Wakandans have installed in his suit (which more than make up for any lack of superpowers).
Captain America: Brave New World very much feels like a spiritual successor to 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier and this trailer leans heavily into the espionage aspects. However, there's plenty of epic action too because Harrison Ford's Red Hulk is fully unleashed for a battle with Sam in front of the White House.
Red Hulk looks great in action, though we've known since 2012 that Marvel Studios and Ilm have mastered bringing that character to life.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been in a holding pattern of late. The once all-powerful franchise that dominated the box office for a decade plus to the delight of comic book fans and disdain of cinephiles started experiencing turbulence in 2021 with the mixed response to "Eternals" before finding the ditch a year ago with "The Marvels." When Jonathan Majors, who'd been cast as Kang (aka the franchise's next Thanos), was convicted of assault and harassment, Marvel Studios was forced to find a new way forward.
The MCU hit a throwing save this summer with "Deadpool & Wolverine," an inherited franchise from what is now known as 20th Century Studios. The film didn't push the overall narrative forward, but it made a barge-full of cash and bought them some time as the prepare to take their first step forward post-Majors with "Captain America: Brave New World."

Captain America: Brave New World is the next Marvel Studios movie heading our way and fans remain optimistic that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier sequel will kick off 2025 in style.
It's no secret Sam Wilson's first solo outing has undergone extensive reshoots, so we're hoping those fixed the movie rather than plastering over issues too glaring to hide.
Now, we have a supposed first look at Captain America: Brave New World's popcorn bucket. As you can see below, it's a diorama of Red Hulk breaking Sam's shield in half. Presumably, the popcorn is somewhere in the back! Will the iconic shield actually be snapped? That remains to be seen, but this is a pretty big spoiler if so.
In related news, scooper Daniel Richtman is reporting that a new trailer for the movie will be released tomorrow at D23 Brazil. We'll bring that to you if and...

D23 Brazil is currently in full swing and we now have a detailed look at Sam Wilson's new costume in Captain America: Brave New World.
Whether the design is an upgrade or downgrade over The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is up for debate, though it does feel like it's meant to reflect how Steve Rogers' suit evolved heading into Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2014.
We only expect Sam to wear the one suit in this movie and it will likely be changed again for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
You can take a closer look at the new Captain America costume in the photo and video below.

Some new promotional artwork for Captain America: Brave New World has been shared online, giving us another look at the new costumes Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez) will don in the Marvel Studios movie as the Sentinel of Liberty and the new Falcon.
In addition, we have brief character descriptions for Wilson, Torres and Red Hulk (Harrison Ford). Captain America: Brave New World is the next movie heading our way from Marvel Studios and we expect the marketing campaign to ramp up in a big way as 2024 nears its end.
Today, we have a first look at some awesome new Marvel Legends action figures from Hasbro.
As you can see, they put the spotlight on Captain America, the McU's new Falcon, Joaquin Torres, and Harrison Ford's Red Hulk. Sam Wilson's new helmet is very cool, while that Falcon design arguably feels more in line with the comics than even what we saw Sam wear.
As for President "Thunderbolt" Ross' imposing villain, he looks like...well, a red Hulk. Marvel Studios has done the comic books justice with this design and we're hoping to also see his same fiery powers from those.

A rumored run-time for Captain America: Brave New World is doing the rounds online.
Though this probably won't be confirmed until early next year, @Cryptic4KQual - who is generally spot on when it comes to movie run-times - has heard that Sam Wilson's first big-screen outing as the Sentinel of Liberty will clock in at about 2 hours and 15 minutes.
If accurate, this would be pretty standard for a Marvel Studios movie, which usually pass the 2-hour mark.
Some new test-screenings for Brave New World reportedly took place earlier this month, and the reactions from those in attendance were not exactly positive.
Apparently, two screenings were held, with attendees split into groups with either a green or red bracelet. An initial report from World of Reel claimed that two cuts of the film were shown, but we're not sure if this is accurate (the studio was more likely looking...

The slate will champion queer, female identifying, immigrant, and Bipoc voices and will consist of four-six films annually. Dhruv Sud, CinemaStreet’s Head of Development, will oversee the slate and report to Offenbach.
Offenbach is repped by Ramo law, whose Stu Arbury and Tiffany Boyle are advising on the slate, project packaging and sales.

Several iconic filmmakers - including Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola - have called out Marvel/superhero movies over the years, which has led to a lot of people (not to mention film news outlets) taking a similar stance.
In addition to the usual criticisms, there is a perception that big studio superhero blockbusters are not "real cinema," and that their domination of the marketplace prevents or makes it more difficult for smaller films to gain wide distribution.
While most actors would still jump at the chance to join the MCU or another superhero franchise, this does seem to have put some high-profile stars off the idea.
Not Harrison Ford.
During an interview with GQ, the Captain America: Brave New World star was asked for his thoughts on joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a "Red Hulk Movie" at this stage of his career.

The very first test-screenings for Captain America: Brave New World (then known as New World Order) were said to have been met with a mostly negative response, which is believed to have prompted Marvel Studios to order extensive reshoots.
Additional photography for the sequel took place over a 4-month period, with Marvel enlisting Moon Knight writer Matthew Orton to pen new scenes and material for the film. Reshoots are the norm (especially for major studio tentpoles), but such a significant period of AP led to speculation that the studio must be making some major changes to the story.
Some new test-screenings reportedly took place last week, and, based on what we're hearing, this version of the movie didn't go over much better.

Reshoots are the norm (especially for major studio tentpoles), but such a significant period of AP led to speculation that the studio must be making some major changes to the story.
Some new test-screenings reportedly took place last week, and, based on what we're hearing, this version of the movie didn't go over much better.

Marvel Studios' decision to introduce Israeli superhero Sabra in Captain America: Brave New World was met with a fair amount of backlash when Shira Hass' casting was first announced, and the controversy was reignited after the release of the first trailer back in July.
Marvel later revealed that this part of her origin will be altered, and the character will be reimagined as a former Black Widow. The Wrap followed up by claiming that Sabra (this name will likely be dropped) will speak "with an Israeli accent, and is an Israeli former Black Widow who now serves as a high-ranking U.S. government official in President Ross’ (Harrison Ford) administration."

A (supposed) plot leak for Captain America: Brave New World is doing the rounds online (check back later on for more), and while we haven't been able to fully verify its accuracy, at least one thing mentioned in the breakdown does appear to be on the level.
Possible spoilers follow.
According to scooper Mttsh, the Marvel Studios sequel will feature a cameo from Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, aka the Winter Soldier.
Taking Bucky's connection to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) into account, this wouldn't exactly be a major surprise.
The two became close friends during the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and even though Barnes' arc does appear to have taken him down a very different path (we know he joins the Thunderbolts), it would only make sense that he'd drop in on his old pal to see how his career as the new Sentinel of Liberty is going.

Captain America: Brave New World Funko Pops Reveal Closer Look At New Falcon And Villainous Red Hulk
Captain America: Brave New World was supposed to be released this year, but like many movies, it got caught up in the WGA/SAG-AFTRA strikes that lasted for several months in 2023.
Not helping matters is the fact Marvel Studios decided the movie needed extensive reshoots which are believed to have reshaped much of the story and action scenes, adding and removing certain characters.
All this chaos has seen Happy Meal toys arrive in McDonald's close to a year before Captain America: Brave New World's theatrical release and we now have a first look at some upcoming Funko Pops.
As you can see, we're getting Sam Wilson/Captain America, Joaquin Torres/The Falcon, President Ross, and the formidable Red Hulk. There are no major surprises here, especially as Red Hulk looks exactly like you'd probably expect (it's a shame there are no flames as that would have confirmed one of...
