Born and raised in Boise, Idaho, he is the second-oldest child out of 14 siblings. He has always had a fascination with film. As soon as he knew how to write sentences he was composing stories on paper. In middle school he began learning the art of musical composition. It wasn't until after moving to Japan in 2005 that he started to take his dream of becoming a filmmaker seriously.
