Brett was born in Milwaukee, WI, to Mary P. Hoag ( nee FitzSimmons) and Douglas W. Hoag. He had one sibling an older brother, Michael J. Hoag (2/6/65-4/18/10).
Brett spent most of his childhood in MN with stints in IA, IL, and FL.
Brett is a graduate of Melbourne High School in Melbourne, FL
Brett studied theatre arts, Japanese, and literature at the University of MN, graduating in 1991 with a B.A. in English with an emphasis in Secondary Education.
Brett has lived in the Southern California area since 1993, with a short time in OH and, once again, IL.
Brett is an avid reader, with his favorite authors being St. Paul, Shakespeare, St. John Chrysostom, Piers Anthony, Ian Fleming, and Robert Ludlum.
