Yvonne Caro Caro

Yvonne Caro Caro is a prolific Puerto Rican actress whose work includes theater, TV, film, voice overs, production and higher education. Her theater roles are prominent and diverse: Cecile in "Dangerous Liaisons", Lucile in "Bourgeois Gentilhomme", the Cat in "Puss in Boots", Annie in Arthur Miller's "All my Sons", and Karen in "The Red Shoes". Caro Caro also played the leading roles in plays that established record breaking attendance in her native Puerto Rico. Among these are: "El insólito caso de Miss Piña Colada", "La Celestina", "La Charca", "Antígona" and "Tina Modotti, a Dream of Revolution".
Yvonne has taken on impossible roles and made them believable. At UCLA's McGowan theatre, she became 7-year-old Helen Keller, in "The Miracle Worker", and she is remembered for her role as the Elf in "Cyrano de Bergerac", which opened the first Latin-American Theater Festival, Festelat. Her most current role in theater is Maité Galván, the matriarch of the family, in "El Nogalar" at The Dow Arena in Pierce College, California. In addition, Caro Caro has played diverse roles in TV, first in Puerto Rico, with top rated telenovelas "Clase del 90" Seasons 1 & 2, "Andrea", TV Series "Al Borde del Deseo", and TV shows "Al Aire Libre", "Que vacilón", and "Eso Vale", where she became part of the rare elite of female announcers of a TV show in Puerto Rico. In Hollywood, she has participated in "Monday Mornings" with Alfred Molina, "Girlfriends" with Tracee Ellis Ross & "Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights" with Diego Luna, among others.
Yvonne earned a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Acting from UCLA, where she was granted the Laura Pells Award, and has a Bachelor's Degree in Theater from the University of Puerto Rico. She has used her talents to teach acting at the University of Puerto Rico and has directed many seasoned actors in scripted/improv scenes as a Senior Educator for medical students at the David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA.
