AMC Networks’ Acorn TV and Channel 5 today announced the recommission of The Madame Blanc Mysteries, the much-loved crime drama created by and starring Sally Lindsay. The fourth season is currently in production.

Clapperboard and Saffron Cherry Productions (The World According to Grandpa) co-produce with Acorn Media Enterprises on board as an international distributor, holding exclusive rights worldwide except for the UK and Northern Ireland.

The Madame Blanc Mysteries Season 4 returns to the wonderful world of Sainte Victoire, packed with unusual antiques and objéts d’art, murder, mystery, sunshine, and laughter for seven episodes, including a Christmas special. Exclusive: Acorn TV and Channel 5 are returning to crack more mysteries with Madame Blanc.

Starring and created by Sally Lindsay, The Madame Blanc Mysteries has been re-upped for a fourth season and is fast establishing itself as a cornerstone for the AMC streamer and Paramount UK network.

The seven-part series, kicked off by a Christmas special, will return to Sainte Victoire for more murder mysteries and sunshine at the end of this year.

Lindsay returns as Jean White, who is navigating a fledgling romance with her sidekick Dom Hayes, played by Steve Edge. Co-writer Sue Vincent stars as mechanic Gloria Beaushaw, Robin Askwith and Sue Holderness reprise their rolesas eccentric married couple Jeremy and Judith Lloyd James and Alex Gaumond is back as Chief of Police André Caron. Tony Robinson and Paul Chuckle (Elliott) complete the cast as Dom’s Uncle Patrick, a petty thief turned pub landlord, and Trevor, Gloria’s dad. There will also be guest appearances, revealed in due course.

Lindsay said: “I think if you had told me five years ago when I came up with the idea of Madame Blanc that in the not-too-distant future our show would be not only a hit in the United Kingdom but America, Australia, and Canada (to name but a few), I would have been astounded.”

The fourth season is directed by Dermot Boyd and produced by Jake Rollins, while Mike Benson and Andy Morgan serve as EPs for Clapperboard alongside Lindsay and Caroline Roberts-Cherry for Saffron Cherry. The series was commissioned for Channel 5 by Greg Barnett, Commissioning Editor.

Exclusive: AMC Networks’ Acorn TV and Channel 5 are serving up a third season of The Madame Blanc Mysteries.

As with Season 2, the U.S./UK co-commissioners are preparing a Christmas special along with six episodes. Filming is currently underway, with the Christmas special set to air on Acorn TV and Channel 5 in 2023, while the rest of the season will continue in 2024.

Mark Heap & More Join Itvx Drama ‘Significant Other’

Mark Heap, Kéllé Bryan (Me and Mrs Jones) and Shaun Williamson are among cast added to Itvx comedy Significant Other. Katherine Parkinson and Youssef Kerkour (Stay Close) have already been announced as leads on the show, which is from ITV Studios-owned Quay Street Productions.
