"Side hustle – is it worth it?" 1091 Pictures has revealed an official trailer for an indie film titled Take Out Girl, which originally premiered at last year's Cinequest Film Festival. Take Out Girl tells the story of Tera, a 20-year-old Asian-American woman who parlays her family restaurant delivery expertise into a profitable drug hustle in order and help out her immigrant mother's struggling business. Lead actor / co-writer Hedy Wong and Indigenous director / co-writer Hisonni Johnson choose to amplify their Aapi / Indigenous voices by focusing on commonalities in their upbringing. They came together on this project to show how their shared familial bonds, poverty, and the lack of any upward economic mobility, led to crime in their minority communities. Also starring Ski Carr, Lynna Yee, J. Teddy Garces, Lorin Alond Ly, Dijon Talton, Mier Chasin, and Lizette Hunter. This looks way better than expected, might be worth a watch. Here's the...

From Sandeep Parikh to Felicia Day, The Guild has launched careers for a number of its actors, but it has also created work for the people behind the camera. Sean Becker, the series' Streamy Award-winning director since season two, is one such case. Becker is a rare but increasingly common case of a person who, for basically his entire career, has worked in new media. The Guild, whose fifth season officially premieres on the web on July 26, is probably his most high profile credit, but Becker has lots of plans and projects. "It’s been crazy lately," Becker said in an interview. "I'm keeping busy and couldn't be happier. And I'd rather have that then not be busy at all." Becker has been working on passion projects with a number of Guild actors, including Jeff Lewis (The Jeff Lewis 5-Minute Comedy Hour, currently raising funds for season two), J. Teddy Garces...

J. Teddy Garces is an up and coming actor with a refreshing perspective on his career choice. With numerous television, movie, and web series credits to his name it can be credibly argued that he is a rare success story in Hollywood, a town filled with many claiming great success for far less. But from his perspective, he hopes to never feel that way because he craves the motivation to be even better. With a formidable stature, standing at 6.2. and 200 lbs with the cut physique to accompany it, it is not unusual to find him in roles as a detective, a bouncer or other physically strong characters. Though, perhaps surprisingly, he does get called in for a significant amount of comedy work. Further broadening his horizons, Teddy has become a New Media producer, creating, producing and starring in the 6 episode comedy web series, Sound Advice, about a rude psychotherapist. He...
