Sanil Kokate is a prolific editor. Sanil is best known for his work in Bollywood films and television series, which has attracted the praise of critics for his focus on character and emotions. Ram Gopal Verma, Anand L Rai, and Tigmanshu Dhulia, among others, have praised him.
Sanil was born in Mumbai, India. As a child, he would shoot and edit short movies on VHS. A graduate of RUIA, Sanil began working as an assistant editor to Ram Gopal Verma's production, and begin his his filmmaking career.
Sanil has been nominated for dozens of awards for editing, and was presented with the National Award by the Indian Government for his film, 'Bardo'.
Sanil lives in Mumbai with his Mother. He frequently uses his work to explore themes of addiction, recovery, and empathy.
