Singapore’s Mokster Films is launching an upcoming Thai action romance here at the market from renowned director Nonzee Nimibutr.
The Diary, which is in production, follows an explosion that shatters the lives of a Muay Thai fighter who is imprisoned for his role in the tragedy and a pianist who is blinded. When they cross paths after the former’s release from jail, their shared pain sparks a connection that may lead to redemption.
Singapore-based sales company Mokster Films was launched last year by Nelson Mok, who recently handled Oscar-shortlisted Thai dramaHow To Make Millions Before Grandma Dies, and is making its EFM debut.

Rumor: Some Intriguing New Details About The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Mephisto Have Been Revealed
Concept art allegedly from Ironheart first did the rounds on social media in late 2022. The supposed leak contained three different designs for Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen's take on Mephisto, all of which were very punk rock.
We'd later get an artist's impression with something of a Lobo feel to it, though Gene Simmons and Kiss were clearly the main sources of inspiration for the McU's devil.
That Satanic Panic era of rock musicians often took their inspiration from devilish imagery, and it was fun to think Cohen's demon could be the basis for them in the MCU...or is perhaps just a fan of their music. Ultimately, real or fake, it did look like the sort of transformation the British actor would want to undergo rather than just portraying a stereotypical devil.

Founded in 2004, the comic book publishing company Dynamite Entertainment got started with a comic book continuation of Sam Raimi’s 1992 horror comedy classic Army of Darkness. Soon after, they started publishing a book that starred the popular sword-and-sorcery character Red Sonja. Over the years, Dynamite has sent a lot of Army of Darkness crossover comics into the world, having hero Ash Williams cross paths with the likes of Herbert West, Re-Animator; Darkman, the Marvel Zombies, Xena: Warrior Princess, the characters from Hack/Slash, Vampirella, Kiss, and Elvis Presley (from Bubba Ho-Tep), among others. Now, to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary, Dynamite is having Ash and Red Sonja team up for the crossover comic book mini-series Red Sonja vs. The Army of Darkness!

Xo Kitty is a teen rom-com that takes most K-drama fans’ daydreams and turns them into reality. It is essentially a fantasy show at this point, but I won’t dig deep into that. The second season of the series is fun and exciting and introduces some new key elements, including a villain who basically helps Kitty realize who she really has feelings for by the end of the season. [Spoiler Alert] The season 2 finale leaves us with a massive cliffhanger, or rather, the expectations of Kitty’s “one true pairing,” if you will. While the first season focused on Kitty’s sexual awakening, the second season was more about her trying to experience new things because of this awakening. But seeing as she is a creature of habit like most of us, Kitty gets stuck in yet another love triangle. But at the end of the season, she emerges as a...

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Xo, Kitty!Xo, Kitty is an action-packed romantic comedy, and its ending is just as mysterious as it is eventful. A spinoff of Netflix’s rom-com To All The Boys I Loved Before, Xo, Kitty follows Lara Jean’s sister Kitty, who decides to spend a year abroad attending school in Korea to be closer to her long-distance boyfriend, Dae. However, when Kitty arrives at her new school, Kiss, she discovers that her plan has a wrench in it, as Dae is in a (fake) relationship with another girl, Yuri. Combined with learning about her mother and adjusting to a new school, Kitty has more to tackle in Xo, Kitty than she originally thought.
Even though Dae and Kitty finally get to be together by the end of Xo, Kitty, Kitty discovers that it’s not the happy ending she thought it would be.

Kiss’ Gene Simmons had a revelatory experience that made him want to be one of The Beatles. His initial interest in the Fab Four had little to do with music. Interestingly, Kiss once covered a great, underrated song by a former Beatle.
What happened when Kiss’ Gene Simmons saw The Beatles on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show
In his 2006 book Sex Money Kiss, Simmons discussed witnessing one of the most important moments in rock ‘n’ roll history. “A pivotal point in my life occurred when I was about thirteen years old,” he wrote. “The Ed Sullivan Show, a variety show popular in the 1960s, featured The Beatles performing in America for the first time.”
The experience spoke to the hormonal young Simmons. “After I saw The Beatles, I became inspired to do the same thing,” he recalled. “Not just for the purist notion of making the music itself, because that’s...

While they knew how to write rollicking classic rock songs in their sleep, Kiss showed off their more sensitive side with the ballad “Beth.” The track has a riff that sounds like it came from a certain psychedelic Beatles tune. Interestingly, “Beth” was inspired by a true story.
Why Kiss’ ‘Beth’ sounds like The Beatles’ ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’
“Beth” is a somber ballad that makes expressive use of string instruments. After Peter Criss sings “Beth what can I do?” at the 48-second mark, we hear a sad riff that brings out the desperation in his voice. It sounds a tad familiar.
In “Strawberry Fields Forever,” The Beatles used a similar riff after John Lennon sang “high or low” around the 1:30 mark. The Beatles’ strings are a lot more noticeable, but the resemblance between the two songs is remarkable.
How The Beatles inspired 1 member of Kiss
Only one member of Kiss co-wrote “Beth”: Criss.

Carrie Underwood is set to perform at Donald Trump’s second inauguration.
The country music star will sing “America the Beautiful” during the Jan. 20 swearing-in ceremony at the U.S. Capitol, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” Underwood said in a statement. “I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”
The decision has shocked some of Underwood’s fans on social media given the “Last Name” singer doesn’t have a history of being political.
“I try to stay far out of politics if possible, at least in public, because nobody wins,” the Grammy winner told The Guardian in 2019. “It’s crazy. Everybody tries to sum everything...

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure's pop culture references are no secret; it is one of the aspects that the series is known best for. Hirohiko Araki, author of the manga, has always been very open about drawing inspiration from musical artists, fashion brands, movies, television shows, art, books, history, and a nearly uncountable number of other aspects of culture, adding his own twist to these established icons.
Some of JoJo's most notable references are, by far, its musical references, of which there are hundreds, making it easy for more than a handful to go unnoticed by fans. Many characters, Stands, and Stand attacks share names with artists, bands, and songs that Araki enjoys, beautifully connecting them with important pieces of pop culture while still standing on their own as distinctive characters, and these are ten of the coolest in the series.

It was 15 years ago that an iconic rock band broke a dangerous Music record, and because of the risks involved, it's very unlikely to ever be broken. There are plenty of records to be matched and broken in the music industry, from sales to live performances, but rarely are these records ever categorized as something harmful to either the artist or the audience. This particular record, however, is remarkably dangerous, even if impressive - because it has the potential to leave a massive, long-term effect on the artist's audience.

Prime Video's Cross is the latest adaptation of the hit thriller novels, but just how different is the series from the original Morgan Freeman movies? Prime's Cross cast Aldis Hodge as the title character, who is seemingly doomed to chase down endlessly creative serial killers. While the James Patterson books also received a movie adaptation with 2012's Alex Cross (starring Tyler Perry), the Morgan Freeman movies are by far the most famous adaptations.
Freeman fronted both Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider, which adapted the first two Patterson novels. An Alex Cross franchise felt like a natural move for Freeman after Se7en's success, but the reception to Along Came a Spider saw him move on from the character. It's over 20 years since Freeman last played the character and the Cross TV series is a total reinvention of the franchise for a new audience.

Classic rock and disco were once seen as at-odds, but, if we’re being honest, they cross-pollinated a lot. For example, Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)” fuses the progressive rock and disco in a bizarre way. Here’s what makes the song so weird.
Pink Floyd’s ‘Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)’ portrays an emotion that’s rare in disco
Lots of rock bands made disco songs. Paul McCartney & Wings did “Silly Love Songs,” The Rolling Stones did “Miss You,” and Kiss did “I Was Made for Lovin’ You.” They stuck to typical disco subject matters like love and sex. Meanwhile, Pink Floyd made a protest song about the British education system.
On top of that, the song is angry. How many disco songs — or other dance songs — are angry? How do you even dance while angry? I guess some underpaid Broadway performers would know.

Quentin Tarantino isn’t the biggest fan of The Beatles’ music, but he loves one of their movies. The film in question is very different from his own. Here’s a look at one of Tarantino’s most surprising opinions.
Quentin Tarantino fell in love with a Beatles movie in the 1990s
In Pulp Fiction, Uma Thurman’s character said that there are two types of people in the world Elvis people and Beatles people. She opines that Elvis people can like The Beatles and Beatles people can like Elvis but nobody can like both equally. She intuits that John Travolta’s character is an Elvis man.
One might assume this dialog is just an interesting bit of character-building rather than a heartfelt observation. However, Tarantino believes what he wrote. During a 2021 interview with W, Tarantino named his favorite Hollywood movies from the late 1960s.

Rod Stewart’s “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” remains one of the most famous disco songs by a classic rock musician. Interestingly, the tune was inspired by a Rolling Stones song. After “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” became a hit, it inspired a Kiss song. Kiss’ song doesn’t sound too much like “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?,” regardless of the band’s intentions.
Another classic rock star helped write Rod Stewart’s ‘Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?’
Carmine Appice was a member of the band Vanilla Fudge who went on to co-write Stewart’s singles “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” and “Young Turks.” During a 2023 interview with Smashing Interviews Magazine, Appice said recalled how “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” came together. He also said the tune inspired one f the songwriters from Kiss to go disco.
“Rod Stewart was a great guy,” he recalled.

Partners in Paper Mario: Ttyd have unique abilities in and out of battle, but some are more effective than others due to stats and moves. Ms. Mowz is the weakest partner, with low attack power and Hp. Her abilities like stealing items aren't very practical in most situations. Yoshi is considered the best playable partner with high damage and customizable features, making him a strong offensive asset in battles.
In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, party members are referred to as "partners." Recruited at various points throughout the story, these partners directly aid Mario in battle. They're distinguished from one another not only by their story significance, but also by their movesets. Each character in Paper Mario: Ttyd has a variety of different options in (and sometimes out of) battle: attacks, defensive maneuvers, healing, buffing, and debuffing spells.

Action romance is a tricky genre to master — it requires the right balance of heart and spectacle. But when done well, à la “True Lies” or “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” it will live on forever in the rewatch rotation.
Stunt coordinator-turned-director David Leitch has launched cars straight into the air and staged fight scenes that have had theaters erupting in thunderous cheers. His latest challenge, however, will be making the audience’s heart melt with “The Fall Guy,” in theaters now. Smartly, he cast Ryan Gosling, the living embodiment of a junior high schooler’s diary entry, to play the hero.
Adapted from the 1980s series, the Universal film follows down-at-his-heels action choreographer Colt Seavers (Gosling), who must unravel a treacherous mystery while on the set of the next big blockbuster. The movie happens to be directed by his ex-girlfriend, played by Emily Blunt.

Ryan Gosling’s The Fall Guy promised extreme action and even intense drama, and more than the fight sequences, the soundtracks of the movie were also carefully curated. A lot of discussion and deliberation went on inside the room to pick the most appropriate songs for every scene.
Ryan Gosling in The Fall Guy
There’s a variety of soundtracks used in The Fall Guy. From the heart-wrenching Taylor Swift break-up song ‘All Too Well’ to a karaoke version of Christina Aguilera’s ‘Genie in a Bottle’, fans would not be able to guess what track comes next.
Ryan Gosling Did Not Like One Of The Fall Guy’s Main Soundtracks
The Fall Guy also featured some classic hits like the 1979 Kiss song ‘I Was Made For Lovin’ You’, but it almost did not make the cut as everyone seemed to hate it. Director David Leitch was the one who proposed the idea.

Spoiler Alert: This story discusses plot elements from “The Fall Guy,” now playing in theaters.
Long before Taylor Swift embarked on the Eras Tour, director David Leitch and producer Kelly McCormick had the idea to use “All Too Well” as a key moment in “The Fall Guy.”
McCormick, a self-professed Swiftie, and Leitch were trying to find a fresh and contemporary song to fit into a particular scene.
In the film, Ryan Gosling plays Colt Seavers, one of Hollywood’s top stuntmen. After experiencing an on-set accident, he falls off the grid for 18 months, ghosting aspiring director Jody (Emily Blunt), someone he also happens to be dating. The two awkwardly reunite on the set of her directorial debut, and when they wrap their first day, Colt retreats to his pickup truck reflecting on happier times with Jody.
McCormick thought a Swift song would be perfect for that scene, and even Gosling agreed.

In “Prom Dates,” two high school besties are sent reeling after their carefully orchestrated plans for the future take an abrupt turn, forcing them on a wild overnight adventure across town. If this set-up sounds vaguely familiar, it’s because director Kim O. Nguyen and screenwriter D.J. Mausner have combined a handful of ingredients from “Booksmart” and mixed them with some of the farcical odyssey of “After Hours.” However, unlike this teen raunch-com’s brilliantly conceived inspirations, its main friendship dynamic and ensuing shenanigans fail to resonate due to sloppy character construction and a cadre of cringe-worthy circumstances.
As innocent middle schoolers, Hannah (Millie Thorpe) and Jess (Hailey Philip) took a blood oath – one that went hilariously awry – to make their prom night the best night of their lives. But as seniors, the besties are finding that making good on their pact might prove difficult. Hannah (Julia Lester) is struggling with her sexuality,...

The band — which closed out its (alleged) farewell tour in December 2023 — announced they have sold the rights to their music and imagery to Pophouse, the Swedish company that created the Abba Voyage hologram show and is working on a similar project involving Kiss.
While the price wasn’t revealed in a joint press release, Fortune reports that Kiss raked in upwards of $300 million in the sale.

During Kiss’ final concert earlier this month, the (allegedly) retiring band announced plans to continue on as digital avatars. On Friday, the Destroyer act revealed when their “new era” will begin: 2027.
“50 years is a long time, and what the future holds is in the making,” Kiss said in their latest promotional video trumpeting their digital forms. “A show is coming.”
Heralded as the big surprise to close out the band’s “final” gig at New York’s Madison Square Garden, Kiss premiered their avatars, created in collaboration with Industrial Light & Magic.

In a perfect world, Kiss would have wrapped up the final show of their End of the World tour by inviting former members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss onto the stage for tearful hugs, an end to the bitterness that has consumed the group for decades, and one last rendition of “Rock and Roll All Nite,” giving the inevitable biopic a perfect last scene.
In the world we actually live on, Criss and Frehley were nowhere in sight when Kiss played their (supposed) final show at Madison Square Garden on Saturday evening.
