Freddie Hawks was born in 1899 in Kansas, USA as Gladys Frederica Hawks. After hitch-hiking across the Western US in 1919, she arrived in Hollywood and attempted to land a job acting. Douglas Fairbanks and Charlie Chaplin gave her a photo op & Doug gave her a small role in The Mollycoddle (1920).
