Teemu Niukkanen is a Finnish comedy director.
His short film 'Fucking Bunnies' made its debut at the Sundance Film Festival in 2017 and went on to be featured in over 100 international film festivals worldwide, securing 12 awards. His follow-up short, 'Are You Hungry?' premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2019, with its US premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2020. Both films earned nominations for the Jussi Award, the Finnish film industry's highest honor.
Niukkanen has directed five comedy series for television and streaming platforms. Notably, 'True Story Finland', which premiered across all Nordic Countries in November 2022, marked the first Finnish series to be produced for HBO Max. 'Toinen Tuleminen' (Money Shot) premiered in Canneseries Festival 2024 .
Niukkanen has described his approach to filmmaking as "bad taste executed with good taste."
